A Summit County deputy rescued a 92-year-old man by carrying him out of a burning house on May 10. Authorities said the deputy also assisted several other adults and the family dog. Some of the residents did not want to leave the house but a reason was not given as to why. Two people were treated for smoke inhalation. The sheriff said a propane tank near the house caused the fire.

And this is why you train your dogs. I promise you even with all the chaos I could have gotten my dogs out with NO leashes and they not running off. But I also know God forbid I was in a house fire ain’t no police officer, fireman, family member or friend could make me leave my dogs because they are worth it.
I would have went back in too- the level of disregard for the animals by the cops is DISGUSTING here. This occurs at almost all house fires- they let the animals die and refuse to let you back in to save your children. I wanna shove those mf cops in that house in exchange for the dogs and lock the door. This just confirms that if i'm in a house fire I'm gonna LOCK myself inside- lock the cops OUT and gather my children before you have any right or opportunity to make me leave. That house was in such beginning stages of demise- it was a perfect window to grab the very least everything ALIVE in the house. FOH! SO mad at this event.
Thank god police wear body cams, protects them, protects the public and also gives us GREAT content!
Dogs are people too
Sorry but if my dogs are in a burning house, so am I until they are out.
It boggles my mind the amount of people that would risk their lives for the pets. I get it I love my dogs but my kids will make it through life without the pets way better than without their Dad. besides the animals are lower to the ground and have smaller lungs they have a better chance to get out if you just leave the door open. The smoke will take you out so fast. get out and call them. Let the firemen rescue them the guys that are equipped to do the job. your number one job is to get out period
The officer saved their lives
The Deputy needs to learn how to deal with citizens, he acted like a scared child he was way to stressed for the situation, the home owners were way more in control of the situation,
She’s leaves the burning house smoking a cig 🤣🤣
I would absolutely be the one going back in for my fur babies. Theyre my family. You better believe I'd risk my life to get them.
When he said it sucks for the dogs lol her face 😮
I hate people who don't have compassion for animals. I'd rather die WITH my pets than make them die alone.
Im going in for my dogs. You can yell at me all you want my dogs are my life. I would never forgive myself. Id rather die.
“I don’t know why it took so long”
I’ve always wanted to say “would you like us to leave?”
What a stpd ppl… Dogs… Fk em! Get out and save's! But!… Stpd
Great video. Officer did a super job. Hope another pumper showed up for water. The one hose may have taken care of it since I don't see the fire extending into the interior
I get that the officer really cared about the people's safety and he was doing his job, but telling a person not to go back in a house to get their fur family members and that he doesn't "care about them" probably isn't the best way to motivate that person to listen haha! Us animal lovers can be crazy about our fur babies haha!
The officer is so terrible! He is so mean to the dogs. He said he doesn’t care about the dogs at all… but sir, they are family too!! You shouldn’t say that you don’t care about them at all!!
The officer is very terrible and was so mean to the dogs. Come on officer!! You said you don’t care about the dogs at all!! That was a very mean thing for you to say sir!!The dogs were a part of the family too and they deserve to live and to be safe just like the rest of the family members!😂😂
💜💜💜
GOD BLESS ALL YOU MEN FOR RISKING YOUR LIVES .!!!!!!!!!!
The officer did an excellent job of handling the situation. The people were not aware of the extreme danger of the situation and the woman was being emotionally delusional about her dogs. Unfortunately fire departments don’t place a priority on educating the public about fire danger and planning ahead for escape. They have convinced the public that they will be able to rescue them when in fact people must save themselves.
Plan your escape. Know who will help those who can’t get out on their own. Plan how you will get animals out and where you will safely put them while emergency services are on your property. Take a cell or cordless phone outside to call 911 AFTER YOU GET OUT. DO NOT GO BACK INSIDE THE HOUSE. If you live in an area served by a volunteer fire department it may take longer for them to respond (which may have happened in this situation).
Again, the officer did a remarkable job.

Pets are replacable
My grandfather was in a house fire too…the police didn't know he was in the house… luckily a neighbour told them or else he wouldn't be here today.
Ah! You better believe I’m sacrificing my whole life to save my fur babies too!
KUDOS POLICE OFFICER! SALUTE TO YOU!
A dog???? There is a line you cross when you have time to get the dog and when the time has passed. She’s nuts.
I would go back in for my dog too. Without a thought.
