Bodycam footage shows a Florida police sergeant being arrested for DUI by her own police department on March 14. Miami Gardens police Sgt. Andrea Smith was allegedly swerving in her lane and driving erratically. “Are you serious, Sergeant, really? You see how you’re driving?” One of her colleagues said to her as she stepped out of the car.
Officers called another department to give her a sobriety test, which they said she failed. Smith was arrested and charged with DUI. She pleaded not guilty and was relieved of her duties at the Miami Gardens police department.

Muting the BWC should be an automatic suspension without pay for two weeks and a 5000 dollar fine. If that was the violation for muting body cams I guarantee you they will stop doing it all throughout the U.S. ASAP.

Those body cams are great. They show when police didn’t do anything wrong, or if they did do something wrong. But they also ensure no one gets special treatment anymore

Much respect for law enforcement not badging this out. I don’t have a problem with basic prof courtesy on minor traffic violations since cops sometimes extend a break to people.
If it’s not something a civilian could get a break on neither should they.
