Bodycam: Father-Son Duo Allegedly Beat Homeless Man in Violent ‘Citizen’s Arrest’

Bodycam footage shows the aftermath of a “citizen’s arrest” turned violent when a father and son duo allegedly beat a homeless man in September 2022. The video shows the father, Doug Cullison, telling officers that he took down the man for allegedly hitting his wife, a teacher at a nearby school. Cullison, a volunteer Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office SWAT medic, told police that his son, Nate Cullison, struck the man over 20 times while he continued to pin him on the ground. Pueblo police initially closed the investigation after citing the beaten man but reopened the case after a security video surfaced of the violent beatdown. The case has now been referred to 10th Judicial District Attorney Jeff Chostner who will decide whether the father-son duo will face assault charges. The Law&Crime Network’s Sierra Gillespie breaks it down.

  1. Pro tip: being annoyed by a homeless person doesn’t give you the right to assault or murder them in retaliation. I can’t believe this needs to be said, but they’re human beings too, and in the most vulnerable point in their lives. Not having a home doesn’t remove your humanity

  2. Yeah at one point while they had the homeless guy pinned down, not resisting at all, that’s when the son ran up and soccer kicked his head with full force twice then started punching him repeatedly…. That’s a crime in my book.

  3. Yeah I would’ve beat the bricks of him too. Fkn low life crack head from Pueblo. I’ve been to Pueblo plenty of times, There’s an amazing great skatepark right behind that icecream truck, that is taken over by homeless smoking crack in front of kids. Crackheads are the scum of the earth.

  4. Behind every bad decision is some woman whispering nonsense in a man's ear.
The wife knew exactly what she was doing when she decided to call her husband and not the police.

  5. I totally get protecting your family… But why not tell the lovely police dispatcher where the suspect is instead of sending out your husband and son…. There used to be a drunk guy (he would just hang out on a busy street where he lived…always with beers in his hand) anyways he literally would walk down the street and try to start fights with everybody…. But like by actually physically pushing them etc… Did I call my fiance and say come get this guy… No I called the police and watched him get arrested after lying down in the middle of the road…. It was a busy he street in Toronto and he stopped traffic for like a good half an hour …

  6. Scumbag father and son, he took a picture afterwards, not to mention he soccer kicked him in the head, they didn’t show the whole thing. That is sickening, they can’t get away with this, they should be arrested.

  7. I assume if this happened recently, the a hole duo saw the subway chokehold murder and wanted to have a bit of that themselves. Father and son deserve to be locked up for a year or longer.

  8. I’m for everyone’s rights but come on he clearly saw the lights and saw Officers why did he not just go through the process and not walk away from Officers you have to be aware as a person too. I know plenty of deaf people and they do use their deafness a lot in situations to stall or excuse themselves. For example the officers was gesturing roll over but he just kept screaming “I’m deaf” he understood but didn’t want to comply unfortunately he does have more rights then a regular person which is why he has a case.
