Body of missing high school student found but his death remains a mystery

In this episode of Crime Watch Daily Updates: Eighteen-year-old Thomas Brown was a big fish in the little town of Canadian, Texas. He was a two-time state football champion and class president at his high school with lots of friends.

On Nov. 23, 2016, the night before Thanksgiving, Thomas met up with some friends and was seen later that evening filling up his car with gas.
But when he missed curfew and wasn’t answering his phone — his family became worried and called the Sheriff’s office.

Thomas’ car was eventually located near a water treatment plant, but he was nowhere to be found. Investigators say they found a tiny drop of blood inside the car, but other than that there are NO leads.

In January 2019, human remains were found and positively identified as Thomas.

A few months later in August the Texas Attorney General’s Office suspended the investigation into his death, claiming there was “no viable evidence” regarding foul play in Thomas’ death. But the family and Private investigators, disagree and say Thomas was murdered.

Let’s take a look back at the case of a popular high school student whose death continues to be a mystery.

  1. It really bothers me every time I see stories like this and people say things like “ he is 18” it’s not uncommon to miss curfew . ALL kids are NOT the same . That mother knew something was wrong !! It’s like the police don’t take it seriously when they have “ missing teens “ until it’s too late 😞 🙏🏾

  2. 15:03, this sheriff is young and certainly very unexperienced. If this had been made public, there rwould have been information, maybe somebody who's had a similar experience but was lucky, somebody who saw something, heard something etc…As a twist, maybe I watched to many movies but maybe it's the Sheriff .

  3. Any chance there's a pedo coach/priest or something like that? The way the sheriff insists on not showing evidence to simply quote: "keep it private" makes it sound like the kid's case would expose someone else with greater local authority/social position.

  4. Sheriff's saying he thinks the kids alive, but somebody knows something and needs to come forward? Protecting evidence at all costs to make sure he has something to pin the suspect which he doesn't have? Weirdo.

  5. 16:51 "it has been hard. Not being able to tell the family things that I'd like to tell them, but that doesn't mean I'm hiding anything".
Stupid POS contradicted himself, showing he is in fact, just another liar.

  6. Not sure if this has anything to do with the case but a father of one of the kids he drove around with that night committed suicide less than a week after his remains were found. A friend of a friend lives there and said they have heard wild things surrounding this case. He deserves justice.

  7. Has anyone looked on the "Way Back Machine" at online hookup sites in that area on that date? Not saying he was a bad person, but it shows who was temporarily in town possibly…
