Body of driver that went off CBBT ID'd, son born Friday

Christopher Scott’s family tells 10 On Your Side he’ll be remembered as a social butterfly who loved his family and would give you the shirt off his back. He also had three children, one born Friday, June 23. Scott died after his tractor-trailer overturned on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel June 22.

  1. I've been across that bridge before and it's scary. Once you get about a mile onto the bridge you don't see land for miles. I took that bridge on a bus because I missed my bus and had to take another to get back home. It took us about an hour or so before getting back to actual ground. Once you go through a tunnel you think you're gonna come out the other side and see land, but all you see is water. I hope to never take that trip again. I went to. NC state to visit my old next door neighbor I grew up with, missed my bus and ended up going across that long scary bridge back to boring Pennsylvania.

  2. Sad as this may be this is the most painless death a person can go through you don't feel any pain what so ever the only bad side is you feel alot of fear knowing that your about to die….but if i had a choice between being in a fire and burning alive and dying slowly and this id choose drowning over it all.

  3. Condolences 💐 to the family and all who knew this young man. I’m very familiar with this bridge and tunnel. I travel this to visit my family in Virginia Beach. I remember the first time that I crossed it, it was at night so I couldn’t see anything. But when we returned on it to go back home, it was during the day hours, and I couldn’t believe how much water it was out there. It really is a scary bridge to cross and I’m always glad when we’re at the end of it.

  4. That's a scary crossing. No guard rail worth anything. It needs to be widened like the George Washington Bridge was widened a few years back. The George Washington is so wide now, your can't even see over the sides whike driving on it. Far better, and safer than this death trap bridge over Cheaspeake Bay.

  5. I remember driving across this bridge in the 1970’s when it was a one way coming and going. Yes, quite unsettling, especially if you start getting in your head about it.

This is a sad, tragic story. Condolences to his family and friends for comfort during this difficult time. Be safe truckers.♥️
