Body cam: Traffic stop leads to arrest of man wanted for 1994 Atlanta cold case murder

A man who’d been wanted in Atlanta for murder for nearly 28 years was finally caught this week during a routine traffic stop, according to the FBI.

The agency said in a release that Muhammed Bilal El-Amin was captured by the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office, near Athens, in the course of the traffic stop.

It was not clear how deputies tied El-Amin to the 1994 crime during the traffic stop.

He’d had a FBI reward out for his arrest since the early 2000s, after allegedly shooting a man in the face with a handgun at the Oakland City MARTA station in Atlanta in November 1994.

  1. In my state, they won't even check if there was a hit an run on video. Guy has no insurance, no license, no registration, and they let him go free and won't even charge him for the several crimes commited

  2. You know, it makes me SICK to read these comments. What happened to the democracy and "innocent until proven guilty?" Did you witness this accused murder? Typical case of a black man being profiled. Does anyone hear what he is saying?? He doesn't sound dangerous to me. Sounds like he is taking care of everyone around him and can't afford to stay above water. Also a huge problem in this country. I live paycheck to paycheck and I understand these problems. I can't believe everyone can just swarm up like killer bees without knowing anything. And if he was arrested for a suspended license he should be released thr next day and unless deceives have SUBSTANTIAL evidence to hold him, then all of these proceedings are illegal. I bed he wasn't even given the opportunity to bail out. These kinds of things make me sick. He stated where he worked!! It's not that hard to catch him. Just goes to show how our tax dollars are being wasted too. BLACK LIVES MATTER. This video honestly brought me to tears. Yall should seriously be ashamed of yourselves. Witch burning trials I swear. History really does repeat itself and it's sad we still aren't learning a thing a this many years later. I don't want to hear your opinions so share them somewhere else.
