  1. Very grateful to you for flagging this up. You're a star. So many great things to look forward to here. Alternative versions of Highlands exist. Fantastic. Remix will be a real interesting listen. Great to have live version. Cold Irons Bound always rocks live. I've just ordered the 10 disc vinyl version direct from Bob's website as its very limited. I'll pick up the 5 disc CD at some point also as I've got all the other bar Tell Tale Signs! No Atmos mix though I think the Lanois' version might actually well with one. Chuffed to bits overall. Thanks.

  2. I can't wait to complain about the price. When will we know?
Semihappy note: PM site video of Singles box being made confirmed, to me anyway, PM had a personal hand in packaging, giving the contract to a small home-grown business – – though I suspect MPL put out the vid to deflect criticism of the price. Plywood. It's the silkscreen paint signs that set it off. I wonder if PM was unconsciously triggered (like Eleanor Rigby's tombstone) by memories of fruit boxes stacked in Matthew Street. May even be conscious pun, PM definitely has whimsical Willy Wonka streak. (Which is why I believe he was solely responsible for 'Yellow Submarine' chorus . JL had a madcap surreal streak, but never happy-go-lucky like PM's. Compare 'Yellow Sub' and 'Bungalow Bill' choruses, two madcap kiddy singalongs, but one of them's lethal.)
(I will contact the boxmakers to ask if I can buy an empty box. I can't afford the actual singles, but on the shelf, who will know? No one's going to play them anyway.)

  3. I think it is quite overpriced, I see the 5CD for 140 USD on Amazon. But I absolutetly love this album and I'm excited to get the sessions and alternate takes. The ones on Tell Tale Signs are great. Also, I'm a little on defense with the new re-mix as Lanois produced my favourite sound ever with this one and with Oh Mercy. Thanks for the info!

  4. Great video Andrew. It took me years to appreciate Bob Dylan, but I love his early stuff now. My favorite period of his is from his first album through Blood on The Tracks.
    What is your favorite period?

  5. Exciting to get more TOOM material, but, for the first time, a bit underwhelmed by the news of a BD deluxe box. There are already 28 live performances (one of which is duplicated here) from the 1996-2000 era (the only period from the Never Ending Tour which has had significant coverage) released on a variety of singles and other releases, and the entire last disc contains already released material. Add in the remix, and we are left with only two discs of new studio material. The "Another Self Portrait" did a similar thing, with a remastered version of the original album included, but did include a complete live show, alongside two discs of outtakes.

  6. Any interest in the Stones’ mono box? I had it on preorder for months at an incredible price after Amazon listed it early. They’re honoring that price but I canceled it a week before it was officially announced. I like 4-5 of their albums and can’t justify paying the full price.

  7. Andrew, I wondered what other artists you might be a fan of. What about the Stones, Kinks or the Who? Time Out of Mind, what a classic! I do wish they had combined TOOM with Love and Theft in this pkg. peace from 'across the pond'

  8. So…a remix no one needs, a disc of stuff we already have…this we could easily have had a 3 disc set . It’s £125 on Badlands, so no thanks. The 10LP version is the same content as the 5CDs

  9. Will be buying as a Dylan fan. Time out of mind was the first Dylan album I bought in 1997. Not dark yet is a beautiful song about old age. There's already some outtakes on the tell tale signs like you have said. I love this album it has lovely Lanois guitar work. Highlands is genius it's a movie in 16 minuites

  10. 2 discs of outtakes YEH …The rest is a RIP off to the public , and I'm an ardent Bob fan of almost 60 years . Another example of record companies ripping us off …..No Thanks .
