  1. A slower month for me compared to last month. 53 plays of 34 games. Highlights were Underwater Cities, Shipyard, and Bonfire.

Also, you should definitely start keeping track of scores! Who cares when you start, but the earlier, the more data you’ll have. I just got the app a few months ago and its been so good. Before i would just log on BGG.

  2. Great job! Love Nusfjord as a short and streamlined worker placement – I love Caverna, but Nusfjord plays in half the time and only have to keep track of wood, fish and coins

  3. I really love horrified. I'm going to need to try times up. I'm currently learning obsession on BGA and there are a few things I'm not quite grasping but I think I am getting the hang of it overall. I also really enjoy Ark Nova solo.

  4. Obsession: i havnt found just one strategy that i like and i think it has a lot to do with the cards and the builders market options that just happen to come out. similar to Ark Nova, you cant get too attached to your objective cards over optimizing whats currently available and in front of you.

Also, flip that Private Study tile as soon as you can, the back side allows you to gain reputation and money every time theres a village fair

Lastly, really take advantage of the Builders Holiday in the third round by saving up money to purchase as many buildings as you want. Also the National Holiday where you can utilize tiles and guests that are above your reputation level, that National Holiday can really pack a punch if you line things up.

  5. Suggestion: I think if you add the titles of your games as tags, it will help find your videos better. I knew there was a video where you talked about Seize the Bean (maybe you have more) but nothing came up in the Search. I had to guess to find it. There is barely any videos out there for this game as it is, so it would have been easy for the algorithm to put your video near the top I think.

  6. Sadly not a lot of traction for Hike It! So if anyone wants it, it might be your only chance on KS. Only 5 retailers pledged. Don't know why it really sounds like a solid game.

  7. I checked Hike It! on the KS page, it seems to be a beautiful game (with a solo mode!)/ I don't do KS, maybe if it's sold in retail, I'll see.
Zoo Tycoon is beautiful too. (That's what Ark Nova which I enjoy a lot! should have looked like)

I'd like to play Uwe Rosenberg' s new game which is about bats planting trees in Ghana, Atiwa.

Pollen once again! is gorgeous, unfortunately there's not solo mode. That's the kind of abstract game I like.

Ark Nova is a game I enjoy very much, and funnily enough, it's said to be an expert game, but I don't find it that tricky (the rules are very clear). I never play expert games, I'm not able to do that.

There are many actions to do, and we can't do everything. The rotation of the action cards is grand.
    Finding a strategy is funny!
I only regret that the board is so…boring! (that brown and beige… who design brown boards nowadays?). The cards are OK.
Anyway, the whole thing is very understandable, that's the most important point.

We don't have "Ghosts like candy too" here! As many other games in fact Perfect game for Halloween !

I didn't play many new games during October, as I'm keeping the new ones for Christmas. I opened and discovered Honey Buzz, Next Station London.

I'm learning the rules of Clash of the Decks (the small free cards game).
That guy, Léandre Proust, is crazy (a good kind of crazy!) to offer his game, betting on the quality of it and that people would buy the expansions! I think that's a pretty good and daring idea! 👍 (I took an expansion of course)

I have a taste for short games at the moment, and for x n' write. I ordered a few ones.
But not Twilight Inscription, it's too long a flip n' write for me. And expensive one (however, people say it's tremendously good).

I'm waiting for Piège Obscur/The Night Cage to be available for the sale (end of November) and for Wingspan Asia, of course. 🦅🦢🐦

Happy Birthday Francis (a little bit late!) 🎂🍾🎁🎈🎉

Thanks a lot for the video Jenna ! I'm looking forward to watching the one about solo games!

  8. You really want to give Obsession a try in solo mode. It is one of my favorite games. Also the upstairs / downstairs extension is adding a lot I think.
I really want to acquire Ark Nova given the impressive hype it got but I can’t get over how ugly it looks. Zoo Tycoon seems to be so much more beautiful !!!!

  9. Obsession cool! You can play it Solo and learn some tactics for the next multi game. I nearly bought it. "I play for joy and not for winning", yes, thats what I say to my little daughter :). Thx for the lovely video.

  10. I had some issues with Obsession on my first two plays as well. Thanks to BGA I definitely “got” the game and it’s one of those that you have to pivot the strategy depending on what you have available. It has easily gotten to my top 10 games. Hope you try it again and enjoy future plays.

  11. When you were saying that your business revolves around planners, I thought you were saying "planters" – the speakers on this computer are terrible. Anyway, I was thinking how appropriate it was for a channel named The Board Game Garden to sell planters. Doh!

  12. So Time's Up sounds exactly like Monikers, which I love as a party game! The only difference I can see from the video is just the cards in Monikers have a whole paragraph of info about whatever the word is you are supposed to get people to guess. And as an introvert who is not up on pop culture, these paragraphs are very helpful a lot of times!
    Thanks for the reviews!
