The in-game start date for the episode was in the year 0, I guess.

Another great Brennan game (outside of Dropout) is The Great Knucklehead Rally (search on YouTube). It is one of my favorite one-shots, Liam and Aabria are there, metal music gets invented, and Brennan delves into the horror of awakening animals. Give it a watch!

Any moments I missed? Feel free to post them here. Is it Thursday yet?

  2. No idea how a level 3 spell counterspell was able to counterspell a finger of death whilst not needing a roll and then the attacker needed a roll to counterspell the level 3 counterspell!

  3. I need this entire arc in a comic or better yet a novel cus I need to reread this slowly as so much has flown over my head or I blinked ans missed something. Defiantly gonna re watch this arc.

  4. I really like how Brennan aproaches insight in general: not only he doesn't use it as "he's telling the truth/he's lying", he adds depth to human emotion, making it complex "you realize it's a plea" was fucking awesome, also using it as an ability in itself to rationalize things that happen in the world not only against other people/creatures, which should be an obvious use of the ability but never seen it in any games. Lastly, the auto-insight to Sam was fucking poetic. I was already sold on Brennan as a DM but now I will definitely check Dimension 20.

  5. I love Aabria, she;s incredible, this is not directed at her.
But Laerryn is unbelievably selfish, power-hungry and arrogant
I get that almost every character in this mini-campaign is like that, but Laerryn takes it to a whole other level
She wants to take Avalir and all its citizens to other planes without consulting anybody before making this, using a machine that appeared to "kill" her best friend
On the surface, she acts like she cares more about her work and inventions than the people closest to her
And she wants to destroy a magical tree that she knows next to nothing about, a tree that's at the heart of the city
For once, I feel bad for one of Sam's characters
