The problem is that, the argument for TCG should be different compare to OCG by balancing the format around floodgate instead of maxx C, is that maxx C aged well, while TCG philosophy fall short. The talk about prosperity and the earlier many runick variants are all at tier 1 or 2 along side with kashtira and spright, all point to the conclusion that without proper draw power for going second, going first is still much preferable. Why are runick popular? Because it gives TCG players without draw power from maxx C a form both having draw power and the out (in engine runick card), maxx C does both and does not take up the slots. So without runick, none could provide draw power while at the same time the out like maxx C, but even then runick is not universal while maxx C is, so without maxx C, TCG will have to choose to make runick their discounted maxx C, accept that decks that can't play runick will never be good enough or deal with runick and witness going first become more and more powerful without being able to do anything. OCG design the game and make cards, naturally they created cards around maxx C philosphy, not TCG floodgate philosophy that fall short right when the game got faster beyond super weak deck like swordsoul or tribri.
