  1. Easy fix to have Zen's kick not be abused, is set a timer on how often it can be used as a boop. Regular kicks can still happen, but powerful boop-kicks every 8 seconds or something. Granted what's the difference between it and a Lucio boop at this point?

  2. Blizzard as a company seems confused to me. It’s like they want their games to fail.

    I am not sure why they would seek to model their game after a dead game…Team Fortress 2. They had to have known that this would inherently be the fate of Overwatch. With the Top 500 now entering Diamond Ter. It’s no longer a question.

    Big changes need to be made. Please share your Great Ideas :slight_smile:

    I’ve been thinking about this recently myself and I am not really sure if there is much they can do. Take Paladins, for example, it is what Overwatch could have been if they kept releasing heroes, added a ban system, and removed 2cp. But that game is also failing.

    I believe E-Sports is the only reason Overwatch is doing better even though the game lacks the content and diversity of Paladins.

    So let’s look at the most Successful Games in the world and see what they do differently.

    League of Legends, Valorant, Apex, CSGO, Fortnight…etc

    For Battle Royal (Apex, Fortnight): Blizzard has War Zone which is doing quite well, meaning that they need to prioritize updates for that game and restrict the continuous COD yearly releases a bit.

    As for MOBA’s (League of Legends): we have HOTS which is not doing as well. I believe they need a larger E-Sports presence and to Primary balance the game for E-Sports.

    Most of the successful games in the world seem to have an E-Sports bias for balancing and content creation.

    Now, what should overwatch be? The problem is you don’t want to compete with your other games (COD, HOTS) or copy dead games (TF2). What are our choices well we don’t have a CSGO variant for Blizzard… but they clearly don’t want to go that route.

    I think this is why they came up with the 5v5 change. Initially, I will admit I found it to be distasteful but I am thinking that it is one of their only options to avoid CSGO territory and keep the game alive.

    Honestly, the OW2 beta was more playable than OW1 with its current DC/Server issues. This suggests that they have already been limiting servers for OW2 private testing.

    Now how do we improve the quality of OW2? I have a few ideas but I am hoping to hear yours :slight_smile:

    I would suggest:

    -Faster queue times

    Enable backfill or fix servers to reduce D/C issues

    Game layout suggestion to optimize queue times:

    Competitive

    -Solo Que 1x2x2 format (1-2 players per party)

    -Group Que 1x2x2 format (3-5 players per party)

    Quickplay

    -Solo Que 1x2x2 format (1-2 players per party)

    -Group Que 1x2x2 format (3-5 players per party)

    Arcade

    -Deathmatch

    -Rotating game is chosen by the player base for the week

    PVE

    -Solo Que 1x2x2 format (1-2 players per party)

    -Group Que 1x2x2 format (3-5 players per party)

    Custom

    -Player designed game

    -Biweekly Balancing

    Focus on E-Sport bias balancing as they bring the players

    -Limit Character kit reworks to once every 5 years to not at all

    Major changes discourage maining heroes and cause player’s to stop caring for

    heroes/your game

    Also, never rework when it’s so different that you should have just added a new hero.

    -Improve the carry potential of each hero. Look at how you can carry with any character

    in League. One area where this improvement might be explored with OW2 is in

    ultimates. As they take longer to get in OW2 they should have a greater kill potential

    bias instead of the previous heavy combo focus bias of the past.

    -Release more heroes

    All Successful Games release at least 1 hero a year

    -E-Sports, National Tournaments, and Streamers should be the main focus.

    They are your marketing for new players. If your game is not growing it is dying.

    -Better Matchmaker

    Streamers won’t play a game with a poor matchmaker, people

    don’t like to watch their favorite streamers lose all day. The highest Overwatch player

    base was during the seasons where 50/50 comp matchups were not forced and they

    also had faster queue times.

    A good Matchmaker system is League of Legends please learn from it.

    Especially the fact that they start you lower than your previous rank and you

    have to work your way up. But the beauty about it is that the system is designed to

    allow good players to climb steadily unlike overwatch.

  3. As a Pharah player those changes are not ok, Nepal Sanctum, Illios Well are going to be unfun etc. Would much rather be able to hit the crouch button to hit the floor faster from the sky

  4. When they make heroes like Pharah stronger, it just solidifies they’re never going to make it a balanced game. So if we’re just going for cheap and fun, I’d love to see Scatter Arrow return.

  5. what are they waiting for, though..? Why jump into experimental and try something which will NEVER be put into actual play because we are still playing 6v6..? Just make it 5v5 already and go changing things from there ffs. I havent played a minute of OW1 since the Beta came out, and this experimental patch is not going to lure me back.. why at all? why make us play a concept that is already decided to be abolished? Do you need a new engine to take one tank out? I doubt that

  6. When is this actually coming live? Is it one of those things console players don’t get access to? Hate when I see stuff like this and then launch the game only to be disappointed bc the update isn’t actually here.

  7. So blizzard back pedal on actually taking the overwatch 2 balance changes and putting them in overwatch 1…ill never hold my breath for this company or their games when the prove time and time again they cant commit lol so glad I quit years ago.
