This is a top 5 Comic Film of all time. Definitely among the best Marvel films before Feige made it comedy with Chill Hulk and Dad Bod Thor.

The first two Blade movies is what saved Marvel studios from going completely bankrupted with the millions it made because they didn't do well in movies or TV in the 90's.
The hospital window jump effect was used in the first Matrix movie training Neo. When Blade said he'll take the cure he was emotionally hurt seeing his mother thinking she was dead in the arms of Frost and finding out that he was the one that bite his mother and made him what he is.
Add "New Jack City" (1991) for another badass Wesley Snipes movie. Wesley, Ice T, Chris Rock, Mario Peeples, 'nuf said.
Wesley snipes originally went to Marvel with the idea of Black Panther.
If you've seen the first Deadpool movie "superhero landing" was done by Blade first going after Frost when he ended his mother.

Blade was created in 1973 in Marvel Comics Tomb of Dracula.
Eric Brooks, aka Blade, is a Dhampir a half vampire. Which means he is also known as the day Walker. He can walk around in the daylight without the Sun. Affecting him technically, he doesn't need blood, but in the Marvel rules, it's a lot different, but Dhampir or half vampires don't need blood. They can survive off of human food. The lore is a lot different in every Different medium.
For Halloween u need to watch Dracula 2000 with Gerard butler & Christopher Plummer
It has such a great take on the vampire lore.
If you haven't done "Underworld" yet, be sure to add it to the list. It can be part of scary season. "Van Helsing" is another one in this vein. 🧛♂

This in my opinion was what make him a movie star.
Without Blade, there would not be an MCU, therefore, without Blade there would not be a slew of absolutely awful post-Endgame MCU movies (Shang-Chi gets a pass though).

No the serum doesn't make it so he can walk in the sun. He can already do that because he is half human. That's why they call him the Day Walker. The serum just keeps him from needing to drink blood.
When he said “Some MF’s are always trying to ice skate uphill.” I think he means people like to do things the hard way I think lol.
