Ok, since the announcement I was skeptical of the game but this intro alone squaches all those doubts because this is peak cinema. Legit one of the best introductions I've seen for a video game

Third eye from indian mythology, Vishwamitra third eye from his foot being removed by lord vishnu (the protector of universe ), depicting removal of vishwamitras arrogance of being the supreme. This is somewhat similar here. ( im not saying hes the only one even lord Shiva ,the destroyer has third eye in fore head) hope my fellow indians see only good in this.
One thing I don’t understand is that this is wukong at the end of his journey when he reached Buddha hood so shouldn’t he one tap erlang shen or is erlang just that stupidly powerful that he can still keep up I haven’t read too much on erlangs power

I can see this game single handedly renewing interest in Journey to the West amongst western audiences
This game is set after Journey to the West, and knowing the story actually helps clear some things up that Wukong in this cutscene. Particularly when Wukong says "except for that pig, you tell the tallest tales", he is referencing 豬八戒 Zhu Bajie, one of the disciples that Wukong travelled alongside who was notorious for lying and his rebellious behaviour towards the main character of JttW – Tang Sanzang – and Wukong himself. This just really shows how well educated the writers and Devs were and how exceptionally detailed this game can be, referencing various people or events that the average person would be oblivious to.

This was WILD ! This convinced me I need a new Journey to the West Movie or Netflix series but with the a big budget. Of course with out all the wokeness and hopefully keeps relatively true to the story.
