  1. personal opinion here, but I think you sail Nelson too open, you have a tendency show too much side, surely the idea of that design is to maintain as much angle as possible? even if it means only using 2 turrets. rather than open the side up to maintain distance wouldn't it be better to simply slow down?

  3. In some ways I'm not surprised by Nelson getting roughly handled by Bismarck. She was an older (and IIRC) something of a compromise design to keep the ship in compliance with the Washington Naval Treaty. Bismarck in contrast was a cutting edge ship of her day whose design was unconstrained by treaty restrictions, and her fire control apparatus was more modern giving her an edge in a gunnery due. This adds in the same factor that applies to armored warfare; he who gets the first hits in usually wins.

  4. Current version of the game seems to favour the ship with most displacement more than earlier releases. Also getting all engines taken out by meme pen of the rear belt when sailing bow in to an enemy..

  5. I'm not surprised Bismarck won as this is just a game whose programmers most likely have little to no education in Naval history. They usually design by propaganda and pay no attention to real world facts like how easy Bismarck's gunnery control was to knock out or how thin her armour was compared to Nelsons. Or Nelsons less advertised advantages.
Bismarck is the most overpraised, overhyped over excused Battleship ever built with many, many flaws most games ignore.
A ship a massive 20% over the Anglo-German treaty limits yet totally failed to achieve the superiority that oath violating should have given it.
Without that lucky hit to HMS Hood her cruise would have ended in the Denmark Straight.
But Bismarck fans just want their beloved ship to win no matter the facts that Nelson or Rodney would have crushed it if Bismarck didn't run like hell.

  6. The Bismarck historical battle vrs hood was a lucky kill. It should never gone to see without a good screen ships vrs Arial strikes . Violent manuvers made air deffence tuff . The Germans new of British torpedo planes this should have been considered in deffence tactics .
ERGO Pride comes before the fall
( Bismarck and others learn this lesson or become submarines)
