  1. Oh well reasons or excuses are the exact thing atm for Mac Jones. He was set to fail and he's delevering the failure every weeks. The whole offense is trash and he's part of the trash too

  2. Totally agree! This season is not all on Mac. Bill and Kraft is on the heat seat and maybe changes is needed. Not enough talent at WR/OL. Bad coaching. But then again there has been lots of injuries especially on the defense this year, its a factor.. It hurts to watch a terrible season, but it will be kinda cool to presumely get a top ten pick.

  3. McCorkle needed an average o line and a decent number one receiver instead of Parker who can't catch a deep ball that hits him right in the hands. He doesn't trust the line and he's sped up, he needed to settle down a bit, lowe was a turnstile. He made his best throw when he had time, but hell, "fingertips".

  4. Absolutely BROKEN….and it sucks , it’s akin to watching an all time great player fizzle out and play past his prime….there’s still a part of me that wants to say he can do it

  5. Mac is not good enough, I’m not a professional scout…and I know Brady is the Goat, but we’ve seen Brady struggle for years to deal with pressure from about 2009-2013 then he started maneuvering in the pocket like his old self again. Mac has worse pocket presence than Zappe

  6. Only reason Davonte Parker was brought here in the first place is because he went off against the Patriots Week 17 in 2019. Every time Parker cashes a check, he should thank Steph Gilmore for having his worst game as a Patriot that day.

  7. Great analysis! I appreciate how blunt you are with your thoughts on the Patriots. I agree with you that to compel Mr. Kraft to take action and make sweeping changes within the organization, we can't win more than three or four games this season. Would you consider bringing Mac back for his fourth season to see how he performs with, hopefully, more reinforcements along the offensive line, a third down back, and a slot receiver??? As you articulated with Tua, it is amazing how well he is performing this season with a solid offensive line in front of him, a solid running game to lean on, and two dynamic wide receivers that can create separation and make game changing plays. I am really hoping for a Jerod Mayo promotion to HC and a legit GM from outside the organization to navigate the many free agency moves that they will have this coming offseason and probably top five draft picks in each round in the upcoming draft.

  8. What worries me if Belichick is let go and Mayo becomes coach would anything really change? Is Kraft like Belichick wants to keep former Patriot players on the staff? The whole staff needs to be replaced . To many penalties. That's from coaching letting it happen every week.

  9. I'm all-in on "organic" tanking, and don't have a problem treating this as a lost year. I take your point on the different handling of Tua over Mac, but don't think Mac can rebound without the O-line and receivers being damn-near superstars, which isn't happening. So I'm for getting a better QB in this coming draft, then as many supporting line and skill players as we can, and treating 2024 as a learning year with additional drafting for highest needs. I hope 2025 is when they'd start looking like a real football team again.

  11. Even when Tua was struggling bill still hasn't beaten him. Mac is ruined and I blame Bill. I need greg to start asking bill tougher questions during these press conferences because fans are not happy. You had thousands of fans leaving during our home game at gillette against the saints. Also I don't wanna hear anything about injured players because you was falling behind by horribly even when everyone was pretty much healthy.

  12. Phenomenal takes Nick. Will be tuning in regularly from now onward.

I think the Patriots may see tanking as actually worth it because the whole thing is you do it only if it’s worth it and only if you have a competitive chance at getting a top 3 pick. The patriots have a real chance at not winning another game this entire year. The week 12 matchup against the Giants will likely determine our final placement. Chicago actually has a much better chance of winning a game or two considering they have 4 opponents left on their schedule who currently have a losing record. I think the pats and Carolina each have 3.

  13. Hi Nick. Thanks for a great podcast.
I heard everything you had to say and then took a deep breath and thought about it.

After Brady was forced to leave by the Krafts and Bill, we all know Cam was made the QB and he had very few weapons at his disposal thanks to Covid and lack of cap space. It was still an interesting season looking back now.

Then, we took Mac in the draft after a great FA wherein we acquired lots of weapons. 2021 was a better season in terms of reaching the playoffs and such but some of the weapons we signed did not perform up to expectations.

Last year was the turning point and it was a disaster of sorts. We are still reeling from it. We wasted an entire season last year and this year even though we did not plan for it , it turned out to be a total train wreck so far.

I think it’s high time we move on from Mac even though the fault is not with him. We have a lot of cleaning up to do rest of the roster wise and I know there is plenty of time to discuss that.
