About me once saying the pistol would be appearing in this film… Told ya so 😉
My thoughts on the different weapons he has from others. Based on how it looked, the helmet looks more like a skull and weapons are more basic, knives, Lazer guided "arrows". It was more of a "woodsman" type hunter. It was hunting not people but the wildlife until the humans started tracking it once known was there. It was not even around the village but in deep woods. It took on the bear hand to hand, when we saw it hunting..the snake, wolf, bear. It scared off the mountain lion that injured the Indian saving his life, probably hunting it.
If she couldn't get the flint lock pistol to fire, how could she…or anyone in the tribe have figured out the high tech Predator weapons…kind of a dumb statement on your behalf!
another question. how does it beast multiple people, but gets 1v1ed by a teen? my guess is plot armour.
The reason why this predator doesn’t have the plasma cannon is because he is still a bloodling and has to earn his right to own a plasma cannon. In AvP we see predators having plasma cannon thousands of year prior to the film which confirms that they had plasma cannons since ancient times
maybe they havent gotten the amengi to make that tech for them yet..
Some of the channels that specialize in Predator lore commented that this hunter is from the south of the planet, a area more feral and melee based group of hunters. That's why the choice of weapons and armor. As far as I understand of course.
This movie was a good movie no doubt about that, but the notion that a 16 or 18 or how ever old she was, Girl taking on an otherworldly being who's sole purpose is to hunt and kill with high tech gadgets and alot of strength by her self and kill him I'd absurd, I get it, girl power and girls can do anything am all for that, but that is truly absurd, maybe a group of girl hunters would have been better

Predators have been coming to earth since well before the last ice age, or what ever point in history Antarctica was a habitable environment, according to movie canon anyway. The Predators or Yutja are a strict hierarchal society of hunters that value strength and hunting prowess over everything else. There are different clans, probably different races and casts among the clans as well. The movies are all so disjointed though and don't seem to follow a single coherent narrative that it's hard to tell. Each movie seems to be in someway a standalone movie loosely associated with previous movies.
Predators are not very hunters, they died in every movies
Besides the laser discs the Predators gear is quite adequate for the hunt in Prey. The kill might mark the end of the hunt, but its not the point. The hunt is about facing a dangerous foe on equal footing. Therefor may a plasma caster be more effective, but inadequate. And I conclude with the opinion, that he is an Unblooded, who has to earn his advanced gear.
I don’t understand how people can say that the Predator’s at the time of prey had inferior technology specifically when it comes to no plasma caster, but we very clearly watch an advanced alien spacecraft with both shields and cloaking systems drop the alien off on earth. If you can travel across the universe in a spaceship, chances are you have very advanced technology. I believe this predator was intentionally given inferior tech either because he was a Youngblood and hadn’t yet earned the right to use advanced weapons, or because he chose to not do so. I believe the latter is probably the explanation.
To me they aren't unanswered questions just poor answers for the questions that had already been answered.
Man that movie surprised me and was pretty rad. That actress is just super annoying. The line "why do you do this?" Is asked of naru, when she replies "because you think I can't." Is such a stupid and annoying line. It's just such an unnaturally woke line which just doesn't belong. Super annoying and I feel like the main actress was the brains behind that line.
Biggest question? Who watches this crap?

I believe that the Prey mask he’s wearing is one of those creatures in the “predators” movie where it takes place in a hunting ground with the beserkers. Pretty sure that the mask is from the beast the girl “misfired” at the start of the movie
In every other movie and the comic, water always causes a malfunction in the predators camouflage, but in this movie it didn't. Through the whole bear fight scene in the creek his camo works fine. Re writing the entire pistol origins and the predators first appearance on earth was a big mistake in my opinion. The director said he took the axe and the shield from the god of war game, he should have focused more on the predator cannon than other thing. I would also like to point out that the steel traps that kept being used in the movie weren't even invited until 1820, so I guess the Frenchmen we're time travelers as well. All that aside it was a nice movie, if someone is watching as their first introduction into the predator universe. For me there were just too many inconsistencies and continuity errors. From my point of view it seems like someone watched a couple predator movies and tried to make one themselves…
For the pistol I hope Naru gives it to Greyback after teaming up with him..greyback was the predator who teamed up with Raphael in the comic and the one who gave it to Harrigan in predator 2. This would play a big role in the predators code to give trophies to the humans and the willingness to team up with a human like in AvP.. since predators are known to live to hundreds of years and greyback was an elder in predator 2, we may infact see a younger greyback in the sequel to Prey.. but if they did team up I have no idea what they would fight and maybe it could be the Alien's and their first encounter on earth too since they must of got there some how also.

You totally missed the credit scene with the drawnings depcting the movie story. Yes, there is a "answer" there that basically everyone missed.
I think it would be cool to see a movie but more on the predators side, maybe there was a fight a long time ago where the predators were in the humans position being hunted themselves by a bigger more powerful alien species on their home planet
The reason why the pistol is not explained is because it’s story was already told in comics. This movie just retcons it.
And to be honest I prefer the comic book story of the pistol.
Yautja armor and the cannon should be earned through the right of passage may be this predator is still and initiate predator and it looks young and inexperienced maybe it was trying to get some training before its right of passage!!!!!!
Predator was still unblooded i think and not as much expierened , so far in all the movies we only saw one elite and clan leader in action and thst was wolf , i bet humans would very very difficult to defeat an elite pro, also the first predator was also way better then the feral and he only had the caster and blades

5:04 I don't agree that predator's armament in Prey is less advanced that in previous films. Laser guided arrows are more advanced than plasma. Notice that, all 3 dots are independent he can track and attack 3 targets almost immediately. Also arrows are more like missiles, they can change direction in flight. Plasma cannon can't do that. Net is more powerful, it can chop human with wood just like that. His camouflage works in the water. And the best gadget, wound welder, in P1/P2 predator had only painkiller injector and simply clamp, wound needed time to heal. But in Prey he can recover just instantly after using this laser device.
This predator may looks simple and basic in first impression but when you check him closely is not.
the flintlock pistol… wasnt the original lore that it was either given, or taken off of a pirate during a hunt? so does that mean, pirates took it off of her after she received it?
FYI: The answer to the ship is that if you watch the credits (story board made to be like Indian drawings/lore) shows SEVERAL more ships parked in "Orbit."
Let's just say as far as the predators mask goes, kinda looks to me like it could be the skull of the amengi, the same race of alien that enslaved the predators for many year before the predators rose up and fought back, which is also the same race that the predators even got technology from. Sounds pretty on point to me.
I think each predator hunts differently. From the first one to Prey they all hunt differently. In prey he fights toe to toe with his foe. More hand to hand combat maybe more sport or honor.
