  1. The game is objectively not that good. Fallout New Vegas did a lot more over a decade ago if you look up any gameplay. This Bethesda "charm" people keep saying isn't a thing anymore – the bugs, the antiquated engine, the stiff gameplay, the graphics, character models, etc, are not cuttin' it anymore.

  2. "the astronauts weren't bored on the moon!" okay, weird comparison? First, that was a monumental achievement for Human advancement and nobody had ever done that before. Starfield does not amaze by just….standing on a planet. Saying its supposed to evoke smallness is defeated by the fact that you can fast travel to literally anywhere else in a matter of seconds. There is no surface-to-space travel to really make it feel like you landed on a planet. Just an animation.

And then saying there's a lot to do on those planets….what, like trek for miles to some random base thats been copy-pasted from somewhere else and kill the same copy-pasted enemies over and over? killing local wildlife because you needed some materials? Maybe the first few times its fun, but after a while that gets….boring!

  3. Well my money speaks truth to Bethesda (I did not buy Starfield, but I was gifted a free copy as a moderator, and played it fully. I do not recommend it). Sadly, it seems many bought the game already, but maybe not next time. If Bethesda recognizes the bad designs and fixes Starfield, I will reconsider.

  4. Mass effect also had a decent number of planets that were empty, for the most part.
But the game made it worth exploring all the empty planets.
Because you could easily look on your map and find the relevant things to look for.
And maybe along the way you came across something else that was interesting.

One of my favorite parts was when you entered into a new solar system, or was about to check out a new planet you would suddenly get a call From General Hackett.

And that usually meant a small side involving a planet in that system.
The empty planets in that game weren’t exactly empty. There was stuff, and there was a reason to explore them.

Mass Effect 2 obviously did it better, where you could just slowly a planet and send Propes out to hotspots,
They even had some other stuff that the scanners would pick up like a SOS signal.

But even though you were finding empty planets, you were still finding plenty of stuff that would end up helping you out.

You can’t have empty planets just for a sense of how small you are.
That is a completely and totally subjective feeling.
And if there’s a certain way, you’re hoping that players will feel about your game maybe you should relay it in an interview instead of a response from a review post.

  5. I think the hate is a lot of bandwagon stuff, It's not a perfect game for sure and the base building and crafting leaves things to be desired but I enjoyed my time in the game and that's all I care about.

  6. I don't get all the complaints surrounding starfeild. 90% of the people bitching already have 40+ hours into the game and at that point how much more do you really have a right to expect for 60 bucks? im 40+ hours into the game and have hardly touched the main quest, built a starship or even delved to deep into the base building. I feel I've more than gotten my monies worth and that anything else i get out of the game is just extra.

  7. I just can’t get into bethesda’s rpg games anymore. I loved oblivion, but could just never get into skyrim because it felt so similar. Then i played like an hour of starfield and it felt like skyrim in space and i got bored in an hour. They have some things to learn from companies like Fromsoft about making combat engaging and making their open worlds feel less empty cause i’m not the only one who feels this way.

  8. I 1000 pointed Starfield, I'd say it's 7/10 at best, I'd give it a 6. The game overall is very wide, but very shallow. The only things that feel like they have any depth are the weapons and ship building. Most of the quest lines have their interesting points, but are otherwise pretty generic and could be swapped into any other Bethesda game if you just changed some elements. The companions are passable, but not really memorable. The temples where you find powers are laughably bad once you realize its the same thing every time. It just doesn't really do anything better or even as good as games that have come before it. Better story and characters: Mass Effect, better exploration and flying: No Man's Sky, better physics and mystery: Outer Wilds.

  9. What I personally love about their astronaut comment, is how it fails to recognize that the astronauts had a purpose and they were doing science. Meanwhile, Starfield's empty wastelands have no meaningful purpose and I cannot do science on them.

  10. starfield is just skyrim in space with guns, skyrim was only fun cause of mods, oblivion was amazing and still better imo, nms did space, ships, outposts, ects better, there are just better space rpgs in general then starfield. like mass effect, ects, empty open worlds are shit. no matter the reason. look at dw9/dw9e, ects, and making dlcs that you have to paid for. for a unfinished half assed game is also not good. also betting it could be cutcontent they making you pay for too. why cant we go back where games were good, not really buggy, were COMPLETE games, didnt NEED dlcs, ects. i miss the true golden age of gaming. thank god for indie devs. otherwise we wouldnt have any/most goodass games. since AAA companies rarely make thou for like over 10+ yeaaaars lol.

  11. Inside gaming has been worse and worse in quality each episode, this episode 1 out of 3 could not even read the descriptions of the game releases, like… why do you even bother making an episode if you are not even putting the slightest effort.

  12. Starfield was good. I think, over time, we have just become far too critical and much harder to please. I'm satisfied. Besides. I dont need Bethesda to make a groundbreaking achievement. I need them to make the framework. Molders will take care of the rest. 2 years? Starfield will be where Skyrim was. 6? Lol

  13. Lol I'm old and this is super annoying to me, gone are the days of "the customer is always right." Also, I can almost guarantee they have Microsoft AI handling all this (i doubt they'd be willing to actually pay someone for it).

  14. Starfields voice acting and facial animations could be better, it seems like the characters are toning down their emotions.
UI is confusing, I get confused with ship upgrades, so many weapons and very little ammo
