What have been your favourite tracks released in 2022? Let us know below!
On the harder side – Idles Car Crash. And I'm a huge Biffy Clyro fan so A Hunger In Your Haunt. Simon fits in nicely with your discussion about singing in your natural accent as well AND he did a version of Running Up that Hill in 2021.
It's been the decade of atmosphere in CCM, Marv.
Northlane – Cypher = top produced, entire album is amazing
Marv & Walter – the doctors are in the house! Glasses and all.
I Love This. This is the kind of content that I will consume all the time. Thank you guys 🙏🙏👏👏.
Isn’t funny that these two great mixer eingeneers most favourite tunes are from older artists or bands, just shows the substance of music today and a sign of times compared to today, but I will say the tunes they picked I also thought were cool but you just can’t beat the classics. 😎
Yuna " Fool For U" – that low end tape wobble needs to be experienced. Good lord. Again as Marv said – bass and staying in a space… (an EDM formula). From her 2022 Album Y4. Her ouput is incredible.
I think there is a lot to be said about keeping a song with the same vibe. I'm not sure it works with every song but if you give a feeling that people want you can continue it.
That Queen song yes is harmonics but it's not just the guitar. There's something else there. Maybe a synthetic harp. There was definitely more than one sound there in the beginning.
I know it’s an opinion, but I feel sad that you didn’t include L’enfer by Stromae. For me the best song of 2022 by far.
Do a monthly round-up throughout 2023 please!
Hey Warren, do you or Marc have any credits on any of these songs?
Really enjoyed, really taken by T Bone Burnett will be seeking that one out, great choices & looked like you were having fun. All best for 2023 to you both🥰☮️
loud, louder, LOUDEST…. until your ears bleed….. sad…
jim capaldi would have been great, ha!
glad you included something from revolver. a masterpiece.
Hey. Thanks for nerding out with us!! I wish you both a Happy New Year! 🤟🤟😃💥🤘🤘
The remixed Revolver. I've listened to it everyday since it was released.
Great video , but please put commentary voices at the center .
Hey guys, congratulations, not only for your Top10 but for the whole work you're sharing with us! And. which is not often, I do agree with your choices in this video 84 %. Not thinking that it deserves in any Top10oftheyearlist, but I released a soloCD as well this year, let me know, if you would like to listen to it.Anyway have a really marvelous next year, at least…all the bass-t from kayo
This has been a fun way of getting in touch with new titles and artists. Thanks! 👍🏻
It`s always the year of the bass!!
Thanks !
Think it was 2021, but check out Joy Crookes "skin" album – if you're not familiar. Feels reminiscent of Amy Winehouse and Adele 💜
how do you guys know the drums played on these songs are not VST? I mean, VST drums nowadays are all rendered using real drums in a professional studio, so you can pretty much edit each piece of the kit separately on it's own track on your DAW and not to mention, is way more cheaper then hiring a real drummer. ??
This was great, guys. Thanks for making it. (Especially enjoyed later listening to T-Bone with headphones.)
i like the way you two work together!
I enjoyed this SO much, thank you guys! You guys genuinely geeking out over song writing and production was a revelation. Cheers, and Happy New Year.
Warren this is a great idea but you're cutting Marc off when he gets into his very astute observations. You roll right over him a couple times.
