  1. Skittering Cicada also does not die to artifact wipes. But I agree with Tomer a bit and I am glad Seth mentioned how colourless decks can work. As a colourless player, I tend to get quite a bit of attention from my opponents.

  2. I almost stopped watching during the colorless card analysis, lol. I wish Tomer could have been here for this one as well. Someone needed to do a better job reminding Richard and Phil what the context of these cards are. Like if you don't want to play a colorless deck because you think they're bad, that's fine, but as someone else in the comments said, you do not curve out in a colorless deck. There just seems to be a fundamental misunderstanding of how colorless decks work.

I think the real thing that bothers me is that I felt like in this episode, Richard and Phil kept saying "no, cut it" but didn't really offer any actual alternatives. It's easy to look at a card and say it's bad, but can you find a replacement for it? Like you're not replacing Darksteel Monolith with Thran Dynamo because you're playing both in this deck. In a colorless deck, there are not a ton of cards that do what Desecrate Reality does.

This isn't an argument for or against colorless decks, I just want to comment that I think a lot of this analysis of the colorless cards in this episode is poor given that these cards are meant for a colorless Eldrazi deck. There are very few, if any, of these cards that would EVER be played outside of a colorless deck, but that's not what the analysis was supposed to be of (based on what they said at the beginning of the episode)

  3. Ugin's Mastery is stealth Morph support, as playing the creature face down gives you the free one, and then you turn them face up, either the one you play or the ones you pick off the top. And it goes in any Morph deck!

  4. if you ramped out zuludok on turn 2 (jeweled lotus+solring, mana crypt, rocks make it fairly consistant turn 2 if you wanted) its not going to work with casting a 7 drop on 3. If you aren't playing Mana crypt/solring and getting this out turn 3 (4 at the latest) its gonna be real late in the game and getting hit by sweepers and removal since opponents just had 3-4 turns to draw cards while you just ramped and you're going to be pulling a lot of chaff from the cascades

  5. abstruce archaic –> target the promised ones ability upon entry –> take over 2 players entire turns? void gorger cut tier? WTF?! idk about these opinions dude lol

  6. Calamity of the Titans is an include to any Eldrazi deck, despite how bad Richard thinks the card is. We have to remember that Eldrazi decks can't really output a lot of creatures up to defend themselves during early > midgame to preserve their life totals. Your only real defense against early aggression are board wipes. Ugin, Nev's Disk, All is Dust, and Rachet Bombs are all good board wipes, but in a 100 card singleton deck, the chances of you drawing into these cards are slim, especially in a colorless deck where there are close to zero tutors.

  7. Everyone is focused on the abysmal colorless takes that i feel everyone is sleeping on their terrible takes on the Impetus cards. When Richard said "if the creature is big enough to matter then it's already attacking" i wanted to scream "but it's not attacking you!" Those cards are great because they make friends while eliminating threats to you, especially at mid power tables

  8. Omarthis: There's no existing archetype for it to go into and you would have to create something for it so it's bad.
Narci: There's no existing archetype for it to go into and you would have to create something for it so it's interesting and good actually.
    Guys your bias is showing.

  9. Tomer gotta be there or shush man 😂 or give your notes beforehand idk the notes on screen break the conversation imo so I just listened to this episode as podcast instead of watching with tomer rants on screen
