Best Great Axe War Hammer New World PVP Build Guide!

New World Melee Build Guide for Great Axe and War Hammer. This is a Tanky Disruptive PVP Build. Works for Outpost Rush, Wars and Open world PVP. The talents, abilities, armor, gems and perks are selected with the goal of being able to pressure backlines or stand on point. The mix of damage and survivability gives you a lot of options for a flexible playstyle.

With the Great Axe you will be using the abilities Charge, Reap and Gravity Well. Charge can be used to reposition offensively and defensively. With the added bonus of being able to animation cancel your light attacks. Reap is a pull to keep your targets close to you. Gravity Well is one of the best abilities in the game to setup and secure kills.

The Warhammer you will use the abilities Wrecking Ball, Path of destiny, and Shockwave. This weapon will be mostly used to quickly throw out mass amounts of CC on your enemy then swap back to your Great Axe to deal damage.

This a meta build and for good reason. It’s competitive in all content ,easy to use and easy to gear for.

  2. Great video! My 2c for anyone going medium is its not a bad option hitting 300+ str and getting as much con as you can after that. If you're already trading DR for damage, you might as well commit to that playstyle and be the terrifying reaper in their backline 2-3 shotting people in light armor. Do note that playing that way will leave you extremely vulnerable to a decent mage who can lock you down and delete you quickly if you overextend.

Also, if you run clear out instead of wrecking ball like Throwgod does, you can get most of your value out of just two points into it, leaving another point open which I'd probably put towards Quick Recovery, allowing you to be fairly effective by heavy spamming inbetween hammer CD's when defending/attacking a point, given the other benefits to heavy attacks you get from the tree. Mix that with Sundering Shockwave and you'll be the hero no one even realizes is winning the day by keeping people perpetually exposed.
