  1. Definitely my favorite episode of Oregairu so far, such a good insight into both Hikigaya and Yui.

Also meeting Kawasaki of course, but that feels so miniscule compared to the ending of the episode XD

  2. let the misunderstandings commence lol. Personally I think yui views Hikigaya as someone who is misunderstand and wants to genuinely get to know him, unlike pretty much everyone else. I can undersand Hikigaya's perspective for sure but yui is someone who probably understands him more than most. You can just tell yui was forcing herself to be in that friend group with those popular kids and actually enjoyed talking to Hachi and Yukino more. Forgot who kawasaki was :p.

  3. Hachiman basically has a self-worth issue. Due to his past experiences, he thinks that if someone is being nice to him, its probably because they are pitying him. He doesn't want to believe that someone (Yui) genuinely want to be his friend. He thought Yui must has some ulterior motives, she is probably doing it out of guilt according to Hachiman.

Its a twisted mindset of Hachiman, he always negatively judge others intentions because of his low self-worth. He thinks there is no way someone is genuinely want to become his friend. It is nothing but a defense mechanism to avoid getting hurt.

Oregairu is very deep, especially if you read the LN.

  4. Good job, here is your level 1 Oregairu certificate. Understanding that you won't understand other characters all the time is the first hurdle. Next step is recognize why it is more difficult here, but not so much in other shows.
Don't get disheartened when a speculation of yours doesn't turn out to be correct. It is natural.
When other people will explain things to you, I hope they do it carefully without spoiling too much, so you can have as much fun as possible.
