Out of all the Elden Ring summon spirits, this one is hands down the best and puts the mimic tears to shame.

The best Elden Ring summon, hands down, is the greatshield soldiers ashes. That Elden Ring spirit is so broken OP for bosses, it’s basically Elden Ring boss cheese strats. The Elden Ring mimic tear is not a good Elden Ring summon, and the Elden Ring greatshield soldiers ashes put it to shame. The greatshield is hands down the best Elden Ring summon ashes. Don’t even bother with an Elden Ring summons tier list, this one is just better than most others, and barely uses FP. The Elden Ring summons mimic is doodoo compared to the greatshield soldiers. Hands down the strongest Elden Ring summon spirits.

  1. I can confirm FROM is changing the name of the game to Elden Shield, and they are introducing a new faction called the Shield Bros with an NPC called Solaire of Shieldtora leading it, this game is all shields officially, a snake coming out of your shield to poison, check, a shield capable of bleeding just by equipping it, check, a shield with max guard boost so your stamina never runs out, check, a shield that single handedly breaks PVP with spells, check, welcome to Elden Shield!

On a serious note, yeah this summon spirit rocks, super tanky.

  2. IMO, the mimic is best paired with a Base STR build with high Equip Load. I personally at level 150 am running a Colossal Great Sword (actually the one from the very boss you are fighting) along with the full Vetaran's armour set. In addition I am using a couple of faith spells, mainly buffs for more defense and offense, as well as the dragoncreast greatshield and pearldrake talisman's to further boost mitigations putting Physical at roughly 40% and element/magic at roughly 30% (prebuffs). I also rock the Bull-goat talisman for more poise which sits at 105 and the last talisman is open for whatever but due to the massive amounts of mitigation I take Radagon's Soreseal for more HP, END, STR, DEX.

My new game+ has been going pretty smoothly only really struggling on a few enemies that like to keep distance but the mimic still slaps and hasn't died to a boss yet, normally I die first.

  3. The only thing that these seem good for is the agro because my mimic can heal not only themselves but me too and can also buff me on top of that it uses the blasphemous blade so it uses the weapon art alot. It would do way more damage that those great should guys. It also has alot of the dragon spells. it's so more useful in my opinion I don't usually have an issue dodging until the reason on my mimic but dope video. I will be trying them eventually I hate the boss you show in the video haha he was a pain in the ass in the second phase it might also be because mine is plus ten I don't know how much of a boost it gets for that the only other summon I would say can rival the mimic is the guy who uses that bosses ranged fire slash thing I don't remember the name but you get it from a boss in an evergaol the only real downside of the mimic is it cost health

  4. Aggro is such a joke in this game, just like it was in DS3. It doesnt matter what your damage is it only matters who hit the boss last. Ive been co-op with a friend and while he's throwing moons and kamehamehas at the boss, all it takes is a single crystal dagger toss from me to take back the hate. lol. So yeah of course FIVE npcs will take agrgo better. And that boss you showcased sure does suck for mimic tear but there have been several other my miinc can solo, including first half of the final boss. Not saying those skellys couldnt solo bosses buuuut the BIGGEST nah in this video is mimic is so cool and those basic bitch skellys are NOT COOL. Souls games are about style and fashion before anything else brother!

  5. The best summons is the one that can hold the bosses aggro and tank for long enough to take them down from distance. This is the point of summons. I've seen clips where Mimic gets aggro for a few seconds and then the boss turns to the player for some TLC while the mimic can be caught flailing at thin air. I'm going to give this summons a try. Been running with the wolves for a while and even they are not that effective.

  6. Couldn't you equip the talisman that draws aggro to yourself, then summon the mimic tear and unequip the aggro talisman? Maybe that is how to fix the aggro issue. Just thinking out loud here.

  7. I played Sword of Night and Fire until 50 and moved to Moonveil after skipping Margit to rush Renalla. It's long casts is really a sore spot, and anything magic/fire resistant is pain. Greatshield Soldiers is really the perfect summon for it.

However, faster arts and casters benefit more from mimic. For example, Moonveil mimic can poise destroy so much faster, and if the boss turns to me it gets severely punished by my Mimic. It's all in the build and the boss. For example, Renalla is great with archer summons constantly interrupting her spells.

  8. Mimic is way better, because they do the same damage as you, so it does not matter if you have agro or if mimic does. Plus mimics health pool is better then the players which makes it survive for longer. The main problem here is that you have cheesy fighting tactic when you spam azure cannon and AI can't replicate it.

  9. Pretty stupid general advice considering that Mimic Tear is the absolute best option for any build that doesn't use any kind of magic, like a pure tank for instance: you just won't have the FP for most of the best spirits but you will always have enough health for the Tear.

And about the survivability, your shield guys are getting destroyed in your own video., while in that very same fight my Tear (a tank with the tombstone shield, the giant crusher and the bull-goat armor) hold up for the whole fight just lossing 1/3 of its health. Dealed tons of damage too.

    So, yeah…

  10. I understand the statement of this video but i run a bleed arcane build and the mimic helps me apply bleed faster and also can cast dragon magic for massive aoe dmg when boss/enemies are targeting me soo i really think its all about the build and the role you need ur summon for. mimic imo still number 1 since you can custom its uses in a battle just has too much flexibility for a summon : great video man! 😀
