Bench Grinders: JET, Shop Fox, Rikon, Delta, SKIL, Hercules, Bauer, Performance Tool, WEN. Bench grinders tested for the amount of time for the grinder to reach full operating speed, wheel stop speed, electric motor torque, electric motor temperature after 15 minutes of intense use, electric motor watts under load, grinder weight, abrasive wheel quality and subjective build quality rating. I bought all of the bench grinders and all the equipment and supplies used to test the bench grinders to ensure an unbiased review. So, thank you for supporting the channel.

  1. Hi Todd,
I really like your videos, don't lose one! But I'm from Europe, so I would like if you put metric units somehow in legends, so you can continue to measure in your system and I can understand what's you meaning 🙌🏼
Best regards and awesome videos 🔥

  2. How about a comparison of a very commonly used air tool, the Die Grinder. I use them daily usually to shape small fabricated metal parts. Both of my HF die grinders have failed within a few days of each other so I’m now in the market to replace them. Great content as always. Thanks!

  3. Digital Calipers review. It doesn't have to be super expensive metrology based, rather more for your use like garage ruggedness, repeatability, corrosion or wear resistant (like scribing a line). Of course Mitutoyo and Starrett would do well, but random amazon picks like Neiko or Wen would be more budget comparison. Battery life would be super helpful coming from using one Pittsburgh digital calipers that drained the battery in a matter of weeks.

  4. Request: This is a long shot, but as a fireman, a question I have pondered… what is the best hand cutting tool? Fireman like to carry a cutter of some fashion in their gear for the unknown scenario. Whether it be a car battery cable, or a drop ceiling that fell on you in a structure fire- it’s wise to have a small tool for cutting your way out. One handed operation would be ideal, but not absolute. I would like to see a video comparing cable cutters, tin snips, or whatever you think would be best, cutting a myriad of materials.

  5. I’ve watched your oil comparison videos and have loved them and the results. I’ve also seen the air filter comparisons. I’d be interested in seeing a fluid filter comparison. Me personally, being a heavier duty consumer, diesels, etc. companies such as Baldwin, caterpillar, Donaldson, and fleetguard are the main ones for oil and fuel filters. Would love to see your input. As always, love the channel.

  6. Have you ever done an antifreeze/coolant comparison? There are sooo many colors/types… not sure how exactly you would test them but if it’s possible I’m positive that you would know how!

  7. Could you test some popular vacuum sealers for food? Foodsaver brand and others. I have had a lot of issues with these in the past when trying to seal and store game meat and leftovers. Thank you, your channel is the best on YouTube.

  8. Thank you for your meticulous tests. I used them twice already choosing my tools.
Video suggestion – you did many rechargeable batteries tests but how about a test of the chargers themselves?

  9. i only once in my life saw a bench grinder without vibration (almost none )
the guy who owned it talked a bit about it
the machine was german and over 30 yo
he still had the original wheels with came when he first bought it

the wheels he buy now are the same priece PER PIECE as he bought the machine with 2 wheels
the only reason he buys these expensive ones is because of the vibration
the original wheels he had (pretty small) had almost no x/y movement
the cheap ones were so terrible it shook the whole table
onlly the expensive ones came close
fun to see the quality degradation over the years in under 10 minutes

  10. Surprised craftsman bench grinder wasn't among those, probably don't matter anymore anyway. I have an old 8 inch craftsman that is still going strong, flip the switch and It's instantly ready to go, because with came with a good capacitor. 3/4 hp but the torque is high, you can bare down on it hard and it keeps going. Industrial bearings with the proper copper wounding wrapped around a proper armature.. it's still solid after all these years, it stamped (Made In The USA)… The good old days,, and it out weighs those made in china one's… that was a great down to earth test on these grinders, Definitely will help people make the right choices, All do-it-yourselfers needs a grinder

  11. Fun Fact Trivia: What doe ALL these grinders have in common?..Yep, they're all Made In China..well, the Jet is made in Taiwan, but the Chinese Communist government would argue that Taiwan is China, too….

  12. Once again, the HF brands seem to make a very decent showing, especially when considering the price. They get a lot of flack, but certainly offer a pretty reasonable value.

  13. The main problem with cheap things is ventillation, heat dissipation, maximum usage duration before burn-out, durability and reliability. If these can be solved by modifying for cooler and use at half-power, then the pricing-ratio of 5 to 1 becomes interesting for boys who wants toys.

    Center shaft(more balanced than cog-gear) drive grinding-discs.
Quarter grid box-cage to house 4-1=3 motors
    3 pieces of cheapest motors
Grinding portion should have no-motor (use release-vector of forces with aggressive things)

  14. Something I've noticed in these vids is the absolute cheapest item usually is somewhere in the middle in terms of performance. Then the quality sharply declines from there before picking back up around the mid-tier stuff. It's not just this video either.
