Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected international calls for a ceasefire across the Israel-Lebanon border.
Countries including the United States, Australia and France called for an immediate 21-day ceasefire.
It comes as Israel ramps up its attacks on Hezbollah with dozens more people killed in the latest round of strikes, taking the death toll to above 700 since the start of the week.
Sky News Australia was joined by Shadow Foreign Affairs Minister Simon Birmingham to discuss the ceasefire calls.

Any ceasefire agreement is a one sided deal, where Iranian backed military groups are continuously allowed to lob bombs into Israel by the international community, while Israel is condemned for its actions.
