  1. No bullshiting, just playing, my time doesn’t feel wasted, kinda feel like Christmas morning every time I log in….it’s about time I’m actually using my PC with a taxing game and loving every minute of it. Just got to get use to the New worlds world…..

  2. It's great to see that NW's massive costs and resourcing has ended up producing a satisfying little fishing mini-game. Oh, and also tree chopping & animal skinning rotation…
I'm really not sure that warrants the immense effort, funding and resources that have been devoted to it.
Meanwhile, NW seems to be the same paid-beta approach as retail WoW, which we hated with a passion…

  3. so fishing in FF14 personally im more of a fan of the early stuff, i actively dislike the spear fishing, as for the ship its great for leveling (im told as sadly ied just finished grinding it up before it came out) but im really not into it as it was (when i last played) way to reliant on the rest of the boat pulling their weight and kinda knowing what their doing at least if you want to get a big score.

  4. Bellular, I highly advise you as a lore but, to spend some time collecting lore pages around the different areas because holy fuck nuggets! The little bits of Lore in new world that build the story are honestly fantastic!

There is a whole 9 page set u can collect about King Arthur and Merlin, and I don't want to ruin it, but it was fantastic when u look at Aternum as being in the burmuda triangle and the 'new world' etc. As well as so many other points of history and folk tales. They did a great job at melding these into the fantasy of Aternum.

  5. FF14 is probably the first fishing in a while I thought sounded really interesting actually but I haven't gotten to it yet. Legion was probably the only fishing I really enjoyed. It was a bit more layered in complexity which was cool but also gave you a reward you could use in BGs. I used the rod to carry flags in twinpeaks or go from stables to farm in ab. It had functional use which is more so what motivated me to do the content.

  6. I like the sound effects, UI, gathering and the sandbox atmosphere. Everything else need to go back on the drawing board, they are so half baked.

  7. The thing I don't like about the crafting system is that it feels like I'm being punished for being a higher level. The most efficient way to level up is making t2 stuff. I want to be able to make cool new stuff, but instead, I'm forced to keep grinding t2 mats, iron, green wood and hemp. My numbers are going up, but my grind is the same as it was 100 levels ago

  8. There is more than 1200 unique fish in FFXIV and it took me around 1.5 year to get them all. Seriously, the amount of hoops you have to go sometimes it's crazy, prime example being Warden of the Seven Hues which goes for millions on marketboard. Basically you have to catch certain amount of fish of different color to be granted a special buff called Fisher's Intuition to even have a shot at it, not to mention you need a proper time and weather to even be able to catch some of the colored fish and Warden itself. And Ocean Fishing ups the ante with their blue legendary fishes.

  9. "Quick, Warrior of light! We need to stop the Empire from making further advances!"

Give me like 10 minutes. It's 3 AM and it's raining. Perfect weather for fishing.
