Bellevue-Redmond 2 Line premiere raises questions about Seattle connection timeline

The Bellevue-Redmond 2 Line will open on Saturday, April 27 with fresh questions about when it will ever connect with Seattle.

The link line comes 16 years after voters approved a ballot measure for light rail to the Eastside, but it is not what Sound Transit originally promised.

The line was originally expected to open at the same time as a cross-lake connection to Seattle. However, a contractor for Sound Transit has had to re-do thousands of concrete blocks for the train service, meaning starting over from scratch.

  1. Your Sinclair politics are showing Komo. Could this be any more negative a tilt? What a great day this was and you just puke all over it with this negative crap. Thousands were there enjoying it.

  2. Who should pay…. The contractor who screwed up on the concrete blocks.. seems like that happens a lot around Seattle roadwork or anything else contractors are always behind schedule because they screw stuff up.
