  1. Good to know some of us care about bees. I had a nice bumblebee land on my thumb last week after eating cotton candy. I'm allergic to beestings so I calmly walked him to the nearest bougenvilla and waited a while for it grab onto a flower.

  2. I love your story telling and I love what your editor is doing! Great video. I can’t wait to hear how the flow hive goes. I’m just starting out this spring with the old langstrop (sp?) kind. Waiting for my nuc in late April. 🀞🀞. I’m so excited! ☺️

  3. You've only scratched the surface of the honey Mafia.
Look up "Anthony Knight Queensland " for details of a man killed for his honey stash. Big money involved.
Also honey is used to launder money around the world, but especially for terrorism – it is shelf stable, it's got a good price per kg, it's popular (especially in the middle east), and it can be stored and shipped around the word with little suspicion.
Love the Flow hive (an Aussie invention) – I'm seriously thinking about getting one.

  4. The bigger problem facing the almond growers, and farmers in California, is the 23 year drought. It has caused the total loss a large number almond groves, and letting of 690,000 acres of vegetable producing farms remain fallow. Whether the recent overabundance of rain they are experiencing will have a positive effect is yet to be determined. You can always truck in bees, water–that's another story. Very interesting and informative video. Keep them coming.

  5. Your ability to convey information in an interesting fashion is too notch. It's apparent to me that you do your investigation on the topics at hand.

I learn about various subjects matters other than what's in my bubble of life.

  6. They need to diversify crops and just keep Bees locally when possible even if they only plant something to keep Bees going when the main crop isn't flowering. In the UK and EU they realised they needed to plant wild flowers and hedges on field borders and encourage wildlife.

  7. Nut milk has become more used as an alternative to the hugely environmentally devastating use of the cow monoculture (and the practices of most factory dairy farms of being devastating to the cows). So it is a real pity that our β€˜need’ for dairy/dairy alternatives has become so ingrained that even growing nuts has now become an issue. πŸ™

  8. Wouldn’t it be cheaper for the almond growers to plant broccoli and let it flower? And put out some hives? I mean seriously. I let my small veg garden go to flower every year and I never have an issue with too few pollinators.

  9. This is a nice change-up in the video format, Morgan. A real "Mr. Rodgers" sweater change segway into an educational video. Teaching while multitasking by building a related subject product is a smart format. Entertaining and educational. Top job! This subject matter is so incredibly important. Thank you for bring it to the forefront. BTW, The new studio works well

  10. You’re so good at explaining things! Thanks for educating us. I live really close to Rodale farm. I’m sure you’ve heard of them. I love to buy my starter crops from them.

  11. I have been looking into bee hives too, I personally have been thinking building my own langstoff hives cause I am cheep and I may be a little more construction oriented(electrician). Not sure I see the benefit of the flo hive- but I have no experience working with bees yet. I have a question about your cats- I personally am not a fan of cats and have no exp with them. But we have poultry and mice so I need to solve this problem before it gets worst

  12. This so true as a Californian, Almonds, Avocado and any other top crop/food products it a lot of cost and demand. I'm lactose intolerant which is most people so I'm usually caring lactase pills. It would be nice if we had more diversity of agriculture. My mom was born in Bakersfield/Kern county is it's pretty industrial that you could see smog getting worst every time I had go north to see family in Sacramento.

  13. Hummingbird feeders! Hummingbirds are native pollinators in the Americas. I'm allergic to bee venom, so that's how I attract these wonderful creatures to my plants. 😊

  14. Well here I live in Central Valley California & around all these almond trees, 15 mi from Blue Diamond Almond plant & I had no idea they get pollinated from bees or the theft thing! Thank you for the info Morgan! The trees are all in bloom right now too! Did see how they shake the trees to harvest the almonds.

  15. USA will be destroyed by climate change. How are you gonna deal when wet bulbs kill all your bees, outright – total – drop in flight.
All the way from California to Georgia will spike between drought and deadly humidity. Good luck with that.

  16. Shocked that Lil Barn cat could sleep through a box opening. One of your best vids. Fantastic production with the multi camera angles. Very interesting topic. Your new office is beautiful! And a nice homage to Mister Rogers.

  17. Its getting close to April 1, and by the title I wondered if you released your annual video early, lol. Bee thieves is not something I thought actually happened!
Love the Mister Rogers moment with the cardigan. πŸ˜‰ You really should have also taken your shoes off and put on slippers, lol.

  18. Ok. Global boycott of almonds and almond products would be a good solution. I knew those vegans were evil. To hell with their plant based milk. They're destroying the ecosystem with their self righteousness.
