Beautiful CW with YAESU FT-710 and how to set it up correctly for N1MM Logger

The YAESU FT-710 transceiver is YAESU’s first fully-SDR radio. It sports an excellent receiver and is very good in handling pile-ups and fighting super strong signals. It’s especially good at that in CW contests. In this video, I share my own experience on how to set it up correctly to work together with a very popular logging software N1MMLogger+ and be even more competitive in the contest by sending perfect CW both from your keyboard and your CW paddle.

  1. Linas, do you think there is any advantage to using the WinKeyer USB over the PC CW keying? I use WinKeyer USB with N1MM for contesting, but it doesn't seem that there is an advantage to it based on your success in this video. K1EL mentions that Microsoft Windows can sometimes affect the quality and timing of CW keying from the PC. Have you run into that issue?

Also, would you consider making a video where you set up N1MM for RTTY using WinKeyer USB? I was heavily using RTTY mode many years ago with an old VIC 20 computer and a HamTronics terminal program. I would like to get back into RTTY using N1MM and the WinKeyer USB, but I have not been able to figure it out, and there doesn't seem to be much information out there on how to do it. Just curious. Thank you for your excellent videos! -Jim WB0RLJ
