I’ve literally never had any interest in match 3, but the way they made the puzzle/battle hybrid system is actually super clean. Thanks for covering this game, I'm so grateful you made me learn about it. The artstyle might not be 100% up my alley, buy the gameplay loop seems FUN. I'll be giving it a try as soon as the steam version comes out 🙂
i think the match three can work as a simple mechanic representing tactical implementation, the trainer giving orders and taking advantage of a staggered foe or screwing up and getting crushed.
I see four in a row gives you an extra attempt to match which seems like a useful combo, but are there any other combos?
