  1. It looks like a combo of Stardew Valley and Cozy Grove (particularly the art style). I've tried 3 different farms in Stardew Valley and I always ended up feeling both stressed and bored no matter what focus I did. Having to be back in the house by 2am started to make me stressed, but then the routine of things started to get a bit boring. I'm all for routines and such, but less so with video games. This game doesn't look bad at all, but I can tell it won't be for me.

  2. Thanks. I was on the fence about this game and your review confirmed my fears about it. I don't mind questing for supplies if it's part of the wider gameplay; but if it's the bulk of the game, it gets old fast.

  3. This sounds like a very familiar experience for me — an initially fun game getting bogged down in repetition, that is — so thanks for the review letting me know in advance. Well, I'll still probably play it eventually, but my expectations will be in the right place. 😉

  4. It sucks when my worries about a game turn out to be justified. It has such cute art I was really hoping they would find a way to keep it interesting but alas

  5. You'd think they'd start to automate the gathering around the point where gathering gets repetitive. Writing that code could be the pain that kept them from doing so though.

  6. Looked tedius from the get go so it doesn't surprise me. You can hear how bored the dude is just talking about it. If any could be learnt from this as Devs is that if you're going to have grind at least have somebody that's good with the writing to help soften the boredom, like with Hades basically feeding you cute interactions in-between the grind.

  7. bear necessities XD
I think I can be alright with this, though it is unfortunate it doesn't vary itself late game. It can definitely be improved overtime if the developers stick with it.

  8. was looking forward to this game, but between this review and some others I read, I won't be buying right away. I'll wait and hope it goes like Spiritfarer – release day lacking in late game interest or a satisfying ending, but patched later in a significant way

  9. Given the boring nature of the game I’m surprised there wasn’t a hibernation joke. That being said the crafting/collection aspect of the game seems like it can only be described as ursinine

  10. Well, if the core systems are good it looks like it is still a worthwhile pick up for me – looks lovely for those "my brain is too exhausted to enjoy something more active" evenings where I only have about an hour to play anyway! Something comforting, cute, and short is perfect for that.

  11. Good that the nintendo switch release got delayed otherwise I would've bought the game and would be really disappointed. It really looks like there is nothing to compensate the huge amount of grinding and the game lacks a lot of charme and quality of life aspects. If they don't improve with further updates I won't see this game being relevant for long.

  12. Sounds a lot like a puzzle game with fetch quests. Shame as looked interesting as a management game but its not that unfortunately. Thanks, your review saved me a few quid.

  13. I've seen quiet a few people compare this game to Stardew and I just don't see it. Rimworld would be the closest in comparison with perhaps Graveyard Keeper. This game looks so freakin cute but I'll probably wait to snag it on sale on Steam or GOG. Thank you for the review!

  14. I think the reviewer is being exceptionally generous calling this a fun experience. There is not one thing (beyond the cutesy art style & sometimes the music) that I can recommend about the game. It starts off duller than a tutorial and only gets worse from there. I played till you build the distillery in the second map and I don't know why most of the characters were introduced in the first place and then never mentioned again. The story has no meat or bones, the gameplay is a sum total of nothing, and there was no fun to be had.

I had such high hopes for this game with it's punny premise but all we got was 'valuables' and yard-sale motels.
