Anthoine Hubert (22 September 1996 – 31 August 2019) was a French professional racing driver. He was the 2018 GP3 Series champion and a member of the Renault Sport Academy. He died at the age of 22, following an accident during the feature race of the 2019 Spa-Francorchamps Formula 2 round at the.
Ahead of him rival Giuliano Alesi crashed due to a puncture as he climbed the notoriously fast Radillon curve. Drivers immediately behind him braked, but an unsighted Hubert clipped one of the slowing cars which sent him into the barriers at an acute angle.
That impact put Hubert’s car on its side and sent him into the path of Juan Manuel Correa who struck the Frenchman’s vehicle in the area around the cockpit at around 160mph.
That collision tore Hubert’s care in two and ripped off the front of Correa’s – which was also launched into the air before landing upside down. Frenchman Hubert was sent into the barriers for a second time before he eventually came to rest.
Doctors and marshals reached the drivers within seconds with Hubert and Correa both taken to the circuit’s medical centre where Hubert was officially declared dead at 18:35.

The FIA should've changed the specs for F2 cars after this, but I don't know that they have. That crash should've been survivable, and no one's feet / body should ever be exposed after an impact. Granted, this adds weight, but it is already done by another Dallara spec chassis (IndyCar).

You can't take this video serious. The reenactment is off by a mile and to make it even more meme-ish you have a pov of a man that died that day while a shitty robot voice is stating the obvious. Never thought I could laugh at this shit but this is just a meme at this point HAHAHA

1. Not a popular opinion but the number #19 shouldn't have retired, because it wasn't a chosen number (like Jules #17) and now the #18 also didn't featured, so it's a bit strange. For that year it was ok to use number 22.
2. How did you destroyed the car so much? For me (when I played BeamNG) it was much harder to rip apart
3. For me this was the moment when I realised why we need the halo. Because I did not think anybody in a car with it can injure, sadly I was proved wrong.

This fatal crash was not the only one, in 1995, the case of a brazilian who shocked the country, thats right, it's Marco Campos, who died in the last round of the International F3000 category in Magny-Cours at the last lap when he was trying to pass the italian driver Thomas Biagi, then his car gone airbone and the head of campos hit the concrete wall getting basilar skull fracture and cerebral trauma, he was taken to the Lariboisière Hospital in Paris, France, where he died in the early morning of October 17th 1995 at the young age of 19, it was the only fatal crash of the Internacional F3000 category, and the Best result of Marco campos was a 4th place in Enna, Pergusa
