A detailed look at three model sets from @beacon_models, a brand new company producing scale model kits in 1/144 scale. In this video we look at their first release โ The Battle of Britain set (featuring a Spitfire Mk.Ia and a Bf109 E-4), their 3D printed RAF Dispersal Scene (including figures, Jaguar, and hut), and their bonus 3D printed figures and additional decals that were given to their Kickstarter supporters.

That level of detail is insane!!
Those are great looking teeny tiny little aircraft. Way too small for me. But would be a great gift for my friends who like building small aircraft. Thanks for showing this.
๐๐
Too small scale for me. Could make one off diorama, I suppose.
Close to N-Gauge railway modelling in scale (UK N – 1/148th)
Mine arrived today, soo pleased,BUT,the additional decals don't have the upper red/blue roundels on them
The kits and canopies for both include different versions,so the G6 for the 109 and the Mk1 flat canopy, with the two bladed prop, also included is a flat backing plate and spinner hub with NO props,so you can install a clear plastic prop disc to represent a spinning prop.
Very nice, lovely detail … but 1/144? Is that a wargaming scale?
Wow – the detail is fantastic

How ironic, I had bookmarked the kit starter video, about a year ago, and was planning to see if they made it, and here you have a great video on them. Not only is the scale so different, the amazing detail is incredible. It seems like " we" modelers will have to change our techniques up a bit. Plus the kits are going to make a very unique display opportunity. So glad you helped them along and it appears they are a go . I'll send this post and then pop over to their web page. Cheers, can't wait to see how you build these out.
Some lovely looking bits of kit. You're going to have a ball with them
Very good bigger than i thought.
GOOD VIDEO SIR,LOOK LIKE SOME GREAT KITS FOR WARGAMING.THE BASE HOLDING THE 1/144 CARS AND MEN WOULD MAKE A GREAT ROAD OR BRIDGE.GOD BLESS
Wow great to see a video on the very day the kit arrived! Thank you so much, we're delighted that feedback has already been so positive and it's really encouraging. The variants in on the sprues cover the Spitfire Mk.I early version (with the flat canopy,) the Mk.Ia, the Mk.IIa/b (with cannons) and the Mk.I PR (with the blisters on the canopy.) The 109 can be built as an E-1, E-3/4, E-7 and E-7 Trop. There's also a later canopy included but that will be used for later BF109s when we make them one day. The idea was to box the sprues with new artwork and decals to cover these variants later, so we'll see.
Also, we do have stock of these left which will be going on sale later this week, as of today we are just getting the website updated and finished off, and making sure that orders will go straight to our warehouse for dispatch without a hitch. So they'll be available very soon and we'll be getting a few batches made. Thanks again so much for this wonderful review, like you said we are modellers and our goal here was to make a kit that we would enjoy building ourselves. I hope you have loads of fun building these and we can't wait to see!
Thanks for the review, the 3D vehicles and figurines are very nice!
The instructions only seem to mention one choice of wing and prop, but there are different versions on the sprue. Do you need to research these options yourself or are they for later releases?
What lovely details
Jambo MN ๐Why not build an airfield scene with all the figures, vehicles and the hut, and have the planes chasing each other at ground level? I bet that would be neat. Btw, I am really curious for how you are going to make the scrambling bell workable ๐
Everyone relaxing when a dog fight ensues, the pilots are taken by surprise ๐ฎ??
Was disappointed when they didn't reach their kKickstarter target and there have been a few delays with the release too. As you mention, communication from them has been great, delays happen but being informed shows care. Having got a few 1/16 kits recently this bundle will have a very high WAF (Wife Acceptance Factor). Having seen this video (thanks for doing it) I am now really looking forward to this arriving.
So tiny…
Really good idea giving u the option to build different versions. But for me 1,144 is far to small for me. ๐.
Looks intresting๐
Hi MN, this is quite a surprise – to have the manufacturer replying to the comments made is fantastic! This interest really excites the modeler as they are being heard and have their issues addressed. What a wonderful video. I'll be looking for Beacon models – I like their style and approach to model manufacture. Thanks All!!
This is impressive! In every way! And to be honest, I expected a different price tag with this level of detail and effort to create a very well rounded kit. Chapeaux!
Looking forward to you building and painting all this lovely detail.
Much too small a scale for aircraft of that type
1/144? Curious. Panel lines look 1/24
Lovely video! Currently putting my Spitfire together! ๐ Be Warned: Aggressive Glues like Tamiya Extra Thin, will melt the fuselage into bits….I had this happen whilst gluing in the cockpit dashboard….nothing that canโt be rectified but know the score before committing to the task! ๐๐ป๐๐ป
Best little 1/144 kits so far….really happy that I got involved with it! โค
Brilliant! Even the wheels have weighted tyres!
X3 is a Galland canopy
Might be an erla canopy
