  1. Better run today. Those salvagers aint proving their worth atall are they, to damn fiddly. Now it looks like you need to provide a distraction while they move in, which I guess makes sense but you may as well just melt the enemies like you have been doing.

  2. Beautifully done! Looks like your figuring out your style and it works pretty darn well. I don't actually know about the control g key so that's cool.
Also sadly the mothership can't move, there's missing dialogue, but it's supposed to say "drive systems offline" whenever you try to move it. It wasn't finished before Kharak burned.

  3. On control: for me, the pause key, sensor manager, move key, arrow keys, and right mouse button are my best friends until navigation and situational awareness become second nature.

The pause key being the most important part of the learning experience.

Example: I pause the action, enter sensor manager, hit the move key (with a unit selected), use the arrow keys to slide the map around while adjusting for the best view with the mouse, slide the movement target up and down as required, then un-pause the action when done issuing orders.

After some practice you'll only need the pause key when you want to get right in the thick of a nasty 'fur ball' to see what the hell is going on – or to snap a cool screen shot.

I'm a big fan of being able to pause SP RTS games while retaining control (being able to issue orders/scroll the map/etc ) as I find it REALLY helps me get a grip on a game's mechanics.

If I hadn't discovered the pause key in Homeworld I would have quit playing after about an hour.

  4. i've personally never had those audio problems. thats new to me. thats extremely cancerous and im so sorry you have to deal with that. perhaps your missing some legacy audio drivers? im really not sure on that one sorry.

I've never had that much hitching problems before either my self, so im un certain as to how to help you with that, sorry scarlet.

I think your hitching might be caused by the enemy ships in the fog of war, sitting idle til you trigger them by getting close enough. they do some really weird stuff when ur not looking at them, if you use vision hacks to watch it like I have. due to the nature of this level and how the hostile units are being frozen in place, un able to move, vibrating like jello dildo balls, until you trigger the story sequence. there are not too many levels like that. I noticed your hitching mostly disappeared after the small cinematic played and after the enemy units began to move towards you.

I should have mentioned to hold G while also holding control sorry about that.

the camera zoomed in randomly because during those ''movie sequences'' it tries to move ur camera (like the last video did) to the hostile units so you can be shown whats coming, but because you were panned in a different direction 180 degrees away from them, it appeared to you as a random zoom in, when it really wasn't. that happens only rarely.

resource controllers dont have ''tummys'' the resource harvesters can only dock on the out side of the resource controller temporarily to deposit resources.

Fighters can also dock to the resource controller to repair/refuel, hence why they said ''docking with mobile refinery'' when you right clicked it.

I forgot to mention, support frigates can also do the same thing repair corvettes can do, repair others, and each other, hence they said ''repairing'' ''mobile refinery'' when you right clicked it as well.

you asked if resource controllers have a maximum amount of resources they can carry, no, they dont. once deposited into the mother ship/resource controller they go straight into your digital bank and do not take up any ''space'' in ur resource controller, thus no there is no limit to the resources your resource controller can obtain. how ever there is a maximum the resource harvesters can carry inside them selves, but they simply auto return once that happens. you can order them to return early if you want to.

Salvage corvettes cannot salvage fighters that are moving, because the fighters are faster then them, so they just run away constantly, unless they (the fighters) become immobilized, either from a gravity field frigate, or a lack of fuel, salvage corvettes are very specifically designed to go after frigates, or any thing bigger/slower turning then they are. I know you said there is no flanking, in space, but in this case, you'd want to try to send your salvage corvettes to the frigates ''from the sides'' after you've sent fighters to distract the salvage corvettes targets first. Because the frigates do alot of damage to things in front of them. You can also cheese this process by sticking repair corvettes onto the salvage corvettes, which will allow them to live alot longer, and make more advance towards their targets, I find 9 salvage corvettes and 9 repair corvettes to be a magic number, some die, but most make it usually. Technically, you can have up to 6 repair corvettes on any one ship, giving it insane regen. useful for levels when your mothership is being focus fired hard, and is about to die, they can save you from defeat.

''destroy their collector hey, alright, il think about it'' yes. good. this is a good mentality to have, to not automatically do what the narrators tell you to do, listening to the narrators can be very bad at times. very glad to see you being skeptical about listening to them. that is an important lesson that took me a very long time to learn im glad you picked that up quick.

''yea run home group 2'' yes, YEEEESSSSS, I can feeeeeel the micro, flowing, through you, now.

frigates are alot better then fighters, disproportionately better infact, but be careful of destroyers, they annihilate frigates like no tomorrow, destroyers are them selves hard countered by bombers, to preserve frigates, use them (frigates) against fighters, and use bombers against destroyers, destroyers are unlocked for you to build later. Destroyers are so good against frigates because they hit them really hard, but suck so much against fighters and bombers because they cant hit them at all and will spend ten years pounding empty outer space long before they ever hit any of your fighters, and will thus try to ignore them and focus your frigates.

''how do I un dock?'' Docking with support frigates and resource controllers doesn't necessarily put them inside those ships, those ships dont have ''real'' hangars. Though they do heal, they just park temporarily on the out side. The dock menu you are probably looking for, is next to the research button, known as ''launch''. in the top right hand corner. only carriers, destroyers, ship yards and mother ship class ships have real ''hangars'' but to stop them from docking externally you can simply give them a new order and it will cancel the docking procedure. the difference between internal and external docking is units inside other units dont take hits or any damage where as externally docked units will take damage and if that damage out paces the repairing then they die. Unlike internal docking which immediately renders them invincible once they enter.

''I wonder if in that situation I should have had little salvagers ready to go'' Yes you can use salvagers to great effect against destroyers, because destroyers have such slow turn rate, and have more problems killing the salvage corvettes then the frigates do. The bigger the ship, the more salvagers required. to capture destroyers, you require 4 salvage corvettes I believe, or maybe its 5, I don't remember… You can even capture carriers, but that requires 6 salvagers to perform it successfully. Early game captures of destroyers and carriers can help you out alot in the early levels, because the tech required to build them is locked for a long time until much later in the campaign. Salvager corvettes allow you to cheat past the tech upgrade process. Unlike in deserts of crack cocain, where you could only take control of small vehicles, that make little to no difference in the long run, taking control of carriers can boost your production capabilities by alot, because it adds extra build ques. like having multiple kapici's.

''ah fuck their up there, be careful boys'' Yes you are starting to see the pain and agony caused by those resource collectors little pea brains and the weird choices they make, such as arbitrarily deciding to ''go up there''.

''is this how most people play, up here? im trying to make it as watchable as possible'' don't worry about us, we are loving it. you're doing great now. your starting to hit ''your stride.'' and yes we do spend most of our time ''up here'' this is infact true, so dont feel bad at all about that, we know you need it. the ''up here'' map is very important.

I forgot about the mothership being un able to move until later in the campaign, Hyrum Davis is correct, there was a sound bite to explain that yes she is un able to move much now, but she can turn, and face directions, giving it the appearance of moving. Later on she can infact move faster and can even teleport in exchange for grossly massive sums of money per jump.

''thats just his armor or something thats not his health'' It is technically the units health, its just that number represents the units maximum health, and does not visually change to update to the units actual current health. Which can be confusing.

You're not wrong about the controls, they can be infuriating, I know I felt pretty angry about certain levels and certain control settings my self. one campaign level took me 10 years of trying to beat. your probably not gona like that one very much. So don't even feel bad. As a hard core home world fan, and a scarlet fan, im rather enjoying you're lets play, and im glad you are giving it a really good go. well done. nice video. I really enjoyed this one.

what makes this game special to me, personally, is not the space sim, or the story. its the music, used every where in tv now a-days, and the space back grounds, supposedly made in some way from real pictures. This game, is what got me, personally, into 3-dimensional model editing, and basic programming.

I hope I answered some of your questions. sorry for the wall of text.

command and conquer hey, might I personally suggest tiberium wars 3: nod campaign, for hilarious and super cringe videos, for delicious if embarrassing death ball content.
