ABOUT BATMAN ARKHAM SHADOW:
Gotham City is in danger. And you’re the only one who can save it. Batman: Arkham Shadow, coming late 2024. Only on Meta Quest 3.

Collaborating closely with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC, we aim to deliver an authentic new entry in the celebrated Arkham franchise, something that the series’ millions of fans will know is no easy feat. The prospect of adding a new chapter to such a storied franchise is exhilarating. (And it’s been a lot of fun.) We are committed to building upon the beloved foundation laid by the legendary team at Rocksteady, and driven to do it justice.

From the start, Batman: Arkham Shadow is being crafted to be the ultimate VR game and take full advantage of Meta Quest 3. Leaning into our eight years of dedicated VR game development history has enabled us to not only create a distinctly Arkham-feeling game but done in a way that leverages the immersive magic only VR can provide.

  1. My nephew has this Meta Quest 3.
He's always robbin' me for Meta Quest gift cards. Looks like I'll be buying this game for him.
Anyhow, Meta Quest is not for me. I dont want some sort of temperature or heat on my forehead.

  2. To me i definitely respect that the team put a lot of love into this game but it feels like it’s a slap in the face to fans especially after going so long without an Arkham game and the abysmal suicide squad game. We should’ve gotten an Arkham console game that takes places during this time period. You know the thing that made Arkham games so great but no. They decide to waste time period in the Arkham verse on vr game that a majority of the Arkham fans won’t be able to play. This game will not make money because no smart person is going to pay $500 for a meta quest just to play one game.

  3. Shame it's VR… but i'm proud.

This ACTUALLY looks like a good Batman simulator! Like what the freak… you literally grab a guy, punched their back, elbowed their shoulder, and punch the FREAK outta them in the back of the head.

    What the hell, man.

And we can BEAT THEM DOWN IN THE GROUND????

I'll buy this when i have the chance.

  4. It looks good and all. I just don’t own a meta quest cause VR gaming never really gave me that itch and I still wish this was a traditional Arkham game, especially after the disaster of SSKTJL. I’ll just have to watch gameplay walkthrough

  5. I'm not getting a meta quest 3 just to play this game if it was only available for xbox series x then yes I will spend the $500 on the Xbox series X because I can play old xbox games and new ones so I guess I will be watching someone's let's play of it because there's no way I'm getting a meta Quest 3 just for one game Batman Arkham Shadows should have been for the PS5 and Xbox series X in my opinion 💯💯💯

  6. For people who don't know I feel like in my opinion I think the reason this game is only for the Quest 3 is because nobody is buying those Quest headsets so they decided to put a popular game into the headset so people can buy those headsets think about it if this game was ment to be a VR game why couldn't it be on the PlayStation VR hmmm I wonder lol anyway for the company that made this game in my OPINION I feel they gonna make more money if it was on the PS5 and Xbox than the quest Head set because ain't nobody buying those like that think about it we have yet to get a Batman Arkham game for the next Gen console I'm not really a VR person but in my OPINION this game would be better if it was on the game console

  7. I get what you mean about why this is Quest 3 exclusive but the reality is if it were on PC VR, PS VR2 and Quest 3 the PC and PS5 versions would look far better because of the hardware being vastly better on those other platforms. Of course they both need a console or PC to work; but it would be way better from a graphical standpoint.

The reason it’s Quest 3 exclusive is Meta own the studio and want people to buy a Quest 3 for its standalone games. Can’t fault them for that but VR is a niche where a rising tide needs to raise all ships right now.

I think it’s a mistake even though I own a Quest 3 for my PC. I will say though for a standalone VR game, it looks amazing and feels just like the other Arkham games.

This seems like it will be a great game even if it should be on other VR systems. That said though I can’t wait for this. This definitely captures the Arkham vibe and the team seem to be infinitely passionate about Arkham and I’d rather have a VR exclusive Arkham game that’s this good than no Arkham game.

Hopefully it sells well and WB will invest in more games from this team in the Arkhamverse or hopefully more console and PC Batman games.

  8. Think: If you were watching a Batman movie and they showed Batman's HUD looking like this, would you be happy with that design and those icons and such?

I would be utterly disappointed, especially when I see all the "iPhone" looking crap during combat with the +1 and stars floating around and stuff. And I see no reason whatsoever they couldn't tweak that HUD to look more like something that would properly blend into the game in such a way that it would feel far more immersive and authentic, good enough that if you saw it in a Batman film it wouldn't be totally distracting and just feel like part of the Batman mask HUD design.

I want the development team to go in here and do the same before this game releases.

This is not remotely a technical issue, but entirely and artistic and aesthetic issue with what they've settle for here.

Again, just keep in mind, would I be happy with this HUD if I were watching a Batman movie and I was seeing a view from inside his mask with him seeing some kind of HUD with various display elements and indicators and such. . . .

  9. In my opinion, the combat falls short. The combos appear overly automated, lacking the depth and challenge that would make the gameplay engaging. Additionally, the excessive circles and colors flashing on the screen when hitting enemies feel out of place. These effects clash with the game's attempt at realistic graphics, undermining the overall visual experience.
