Prompted by the news from Sydney Metro that Canterbury Station was the first station to have all its screen doors in completed. I thought it would be a good time now to check on progress of the conversions of the T3 Bankstown Line to the 3rd Stage of the Sydney Metro M1 Line.

When was this filmed given it's been published late in 29 Nov?.. yet talks about all PSDs being complete by end November
Technically metro is heavy rail. We have two heavy rail systems one the suburban and the other the metro
Test running of the Alstom Metropolis Car sets will begin in February 2025 on the Sydenham to Bankstown section according to the media reports. The Platform Screen Doors project installation it's running on time and it's Strange to see a rail line built with bricks and mortar that's heritage listed platforms with platform Screen Doors running driverless Metro trains next year in 2025.
Nice update! Great to see so much work happening so quickly!
Much safer for the traveller, Will be extremely hot during heat wave conditions due to less airflow and glass amplifies sun light heat. Last, there a bloody eye saw in appearance .
As someone who used Punchbowl station and walks past it every day, those PSDโs have been there for about 2 weeks in the same place, nothingโs happened. Iโm probably wrong, but I think the platform is too curved for the PSDโs. ๐
The word is PRO. Gress not Prog ress don't use dumb American mispronunciation it very annoying
Surprised it looks like itโs going to be done on time for once
The only thing I worrt about is Australian workmanship – lets hope jobs are done well, and we wont have the same problems as the Parramatta Light Rail.
Let's hope when it's opened there aren't aboriginal flags all over it.
Came acros this channel today – and as a public transport enthusiast, I love it! Hope you keep going! ๐
Great thanks Marty.๐๐๐๐โ๐ฉ
Hi Marty, thanks for the update on the Bankstown line progress. Interesting seeing all the changes there. Incidentally, has there been much progress made at Marrickville station? I favour that station a bit, due to previously living in Marrickville until mid 1981. Anyway, take care. Rob in Melbourne Australia.
I am really looking forward seeing Bankstown plaza the renderings look really cool and great work with progress of screen doors & stations. As always marty appreciate the update. Side note everytime I hear the intro "I'm marty" your voice throws me back to the 90's "Round the twist " Tv show haha yes I'm very old.
What about Campsie?
