The Bank of Canada is going to be ending Quantitative Tightening (sucking money out of the system), sooner than it had planned – as the banks say more reserves are needed for the system to function correctly.

  1. Here we go again. BoC starts QE after this. Then inflation will again accelerate. Tiffany Macklem will say “Oh, it’s transitionary “ and “we will not hike rates until 2029” and then he will again start QT and hike interest rates abruptly to 5%. 😮‍💨

We need some fresh ideas and change in personal at the BoC to deal with this shit. It’s getting frustrating.

  2. Theres going to be a lot of investment in the oil and gas sector now that the entitled little rich boy has stepped down.
Look for the big 6 banks to supply a lot of financing that way.
The average mortgage applicant will actually have to compete for the banks money.
Financing a second property could get harder soon

  3. I knew this was coming. An election is coming up. If they told the banks to sort out their own cash reserves the BOC wouldn't have to do QE. The banks need more money because they are insolvent and have issued far too many bad loans. They don't have the cash to cover loan failures and want tax payers to bail them out.

  4. I think the banks want more reserve because they are going to need it to stave off the blood bath of bad mortgages that are coming due sounds like a bail out but that's not popular so they havespun it into something different

  5. Again, this is the best news source for honest information about our economy and a very good source for fx forecasting, too
Buying bonds will keep the upward pressure on them. Increasing renewal rates despite trying to drop it by dropping the interest rate? Am I getting this right

  6. Nobody is current buying canadian bonds because they don’t want our currency or because they think the return has reached its full potential since BoC started lowering its interest rates? Or one is caused by the other?

Also, why do private banks have a say in asking for more money to the BoC? I get the overnight market, but in general, don’t the bank handle their money and cashflow? I think I need more classes on banking system 😂

  7. I find this outrageous…. We have house prices in the early correction phase in my opinion. But this, will only dampen it and make our inflation battle spring back to life. I'm no economic student… This, if isn't handled softly only makes Canada look far weaker. Definitely a clown show and hopefully Canadians are already understand the value of holding any Assets other than housing this point!

  8. If TD bank needs more cash maybe they can launder more CCP drug money. They had no problem doing it before and we as Canadians are left to deal with places like East Hastings street in Vancouver.

  9. If they get to print money so do citizens. The money has no value if people can just print it out of nowhere.. it would be a better idea to cut the government employees and their paychecks and take their pensions.. that should help the economy a lot and maybe we should ban the government from sending doreign aid when were going bankrupt. Maybe we can get a refund from all the billions sent overseas. Printing money out of nowhere is illegal, even when the bank does it. If they can print money everyone can print money. The laws are for everyone.

  10. What do you expect from federal reserve district 13. Rothschild kazarian money majik. Why won't any CANADIAN politician address what is happening in the world's economies? CANADA has no gold reserves. Only worthless debt notes of other central banks. What is the future of our currency when its less than .60 of an American dollar which is worthless. Now Trump wants a bitcoin reserve. Is this because they sold all of their gold. We need everyone to come clean and stop lying. Instead of joining an already bankrupt USA inc maybe we should nationalize the gold mines and join Brics+.
