  1. TIM – I like the subliminal message on your wall behind you – 2 paddles.
I used to pretend to say to my students, … with a French accent … "Pas d'lieu ron canu"
which of course was meant to say …. Paddle Your Own Canoe.
… you have done that admirably since starting up TNT.
Thanks for the regular English news updates.

  2. I've noticed that while the number of Western tourists has decreased in recent years, the number of Asian tourists, particularly Chinese tourists, has increased dramatically as the Chinese economy continues to grow and more wealthy Chinese can afford to travel abroad. As a result of China's COVID policy, Chinese tourists have vanished from Thailand's tourism market since the outbreak began.

  3. A momentous day for Thailand cricket as their women's team picked up probably their greatest win by defeating the mighty Pakistan in the T20 Asia Cup in Sylhet. I knew this was on the cards as the Thais put up a great show against the Pakistanis in Sydney in the T20 World Cup back in March 2020 where the match was called off due to rain. I look forward to their next matches against Malaysia & India.

  5. Funny that you cannot get an answer when you google for "Flood safe provinces" in Thailand or better still " Thai Flood safe provinces with clean air" ??
All Google n MSN search do is to flood you with an ever increasing list of places that are flooded !!
Is the situation so bad that no province can be classified under the above categories which are supposed to be taken for granted in many places around the world, or even in ASEAN … ??
How can Thailand even think of attracting people over to stay if it cannot even come up with a list of provinces that are flood safe and with clean air !!

  6. Hi, Tim first of all glad you are back in the saddle. I gather the only way to work out the number of tourists coming in/ out is either sitting at a Thai airport or using a radar tracker.
Unfortunately, it is grim as you have shown us. IMHO days of budget " Now everyone can fly" are well and truly over. The world has changed for the worse.
Redundancies/ sackings included are baggage handlers, front office, cabin crew, mechanics, pilots, etc
The price of jet fuel and servicing aircraft and the jack-in-the-box INFLATION has decimated long-haul tourism.
So sad and very foreboding days ahead.

  7. Energy prices will skyrocket this autumn/winter. The fantasy numbers Thai tourist department is operating with is again just dreamland wishfull thinking. And the artificially strong Baht does not help either, only the Thai Elites who want cheaper European luxury goods and high end cars.

  8. Hello Tim, just wanted to say I enjoy the format here much better than the other channel you were on, I found it to long winded and usually changed to something else quite quickly, nice job on TNT thanks
