A portion of Baltimore’s Francis Scott Key Bridge collapsed after it was struck by a large container ship early Tuesday morning, sending several vehicles and people into the frigid water below.

  1. The Dali container vessel that collided on Tuesday with a bridge in Baltimore was chartered by shipping company Maersk at the time of the accident, the Danish company said in a statement.

    The vessel is owned by Singapore's Grace Ocean Pte and managed by Synergy Marine Group, according to LSEG data.

  2. I remember seeing a transportation executive talking about how many urban areas 💯 depend on bridges. No one wants to spend money on bridges because it doesn't seem important, we just take them for granted, no political candidates would use bridge repair as their platform. No one cares until you can't use one anymore, and then people start screaming "why didn't they fix this?"

  3. Instead of spending that extra 2 billion fucking dollars on more prisons you could have improved infrastructure to prevent this, but no, America is so obsessed with free prison slave labor rather than actually improving the lives of civilians
