  1. This is incredible! Thank you for sharing. Many of these things are so important for us to remember while watching the show. The lead and contestants aren’t the only ones being manipulated….so are we!

  2. This literally went through all of my thoughts I have had theses last few years of watching the bachelor franchise. But will I still watch….yes. But I am no longer getting invested on how long they last. I might as well only be here for the drama 😅

  3. Very good write up, another thing he forgot to mention, not that he needed it, was the BIP producers sending in Gabby and Rachel to trash Logan, but that backfired and didn't work.

  4. That sounds like a successful 10 page persuasive college essay, like ones I graded as a grad asst. Can’t argue against it. Strong thesis statement, plenty of supporting evidence, no obvious grammar/typo problems, & doesn’t seem to be written by a bot. 😆 💯

  5. This perfectly encapsulates why I hardly watch the series anymore. I love Dave's content and others talking about what's happening, but everything described is the reason I disdain the producers of this show. There's no concern or care for the people who are leading or competing on the show, like Hunger Games/Squid Game.

    It's sad, really.

  6. There's the problem right there…Warner Brothers .. they have their heads up their asses. Look what they've done too Johnny Depp! Now trying to sell or pretend The Fantastic Beasts movies never happened and still keeping Ezra Miller who is just freaking crazy. I won't watch anything WB anymore. Now that I know bachelor/Bachelorette is WB ..I won't be watching anymore

  7. great points, and I'd also add how much the culture of the reality TV dating show boom may have played: trending shows such a "Love Island" are basically BUILT on the premise of trying to break up relationships that form, and for a couple to "make it" that have to survive the show's manipulation. can't help but wonder if the popularity of these kinds of shows has played into the modern era of production in the bachelor franchise…

  8. 13:22 that was probably the most irritating thing I watched from the franchise it the last year. The entitlement of Joe in the beach and on the podcast 🤬😡.
Made me root for Chris and Alana

  9. 100% painfully spot on as to what most of us have unfortunately known , but the timeline really puts it all in perspective. The producers don’t give AF about the contestants or the viewers, as they head to the bank. This franchise along with MAFS and 90 Day have all gone to hell. Disappointing. Honestly, the main reason I still watch is to stay connected with the recapper community. lf Dave finds another path out I’m right behind. In the meantime I’ve sworn off BIP as a start to my breakup.

  10. I genuinely fear that one day a contestant will seriously harm themselves/others. The producers are playing with fire by being so manipulative, cruel and reckless with the mental health of their contestants (all in the name of profit, not love) many of whom are completely naive to what they have signed up for. The show also seems to actively seek out contestants who are already struggling with mental health issues for the sake of drama, and likely because those who are struggling are easier targets.

The entire concept of creating villains and heroes (the latter, often only being painted as heroes to be torn down later on) has many real life consequences for the human beings who go on this franchise, as well as their loved ones.

I no longer watch the show for these reasons, but keep up with it through your channel and Reality Steve. I firmly believe The Bachelor franchise needs to be independently investigated. Since that will likely not happen, I absolutely see tragedy and lawsuits in the future, if this truly inexcusable behaviour continues. And I will not have one ounce of pity for the producers when it all blows up in their faces and they are, hopefully, forced to face the consequences for their malicious actions and choices. For the sake of everyone’s well being I truly hope I’m wrong in my assessment. Unfortunately, I don’t think I am.

  11. I started watching Bachelor with Katie’s season and got hooked but now I’m so over it for many of the reasons listed in the essay. The producers are constantly shooting themselves in the foot and seem like they have no idea what they’re doing. The choice for the upcoming bachelor was the cherry on top for me and I will no longer be watching. It’s been real Bachelor Nation! 🤙🥀

  12. This was so well written, but also, @daveneal I've never realized how much I enjoy hearing you read! I Love it when people read to me in real life or have if I find an audiobook read by the actual author. So I guess this is going to be the closest we get but I loved it. Good job!
