  1. In most states, you can teach with any type of degree. There are standardized tests and some specific coursework and testing if you plan on teaching a specific subject. The most common standardized test is the Praxis. There is reciprocity, so if you get a teaching license in one state, other states will accept that license for you to teach in their state. Some require additional course work to teach in their state, but most states accept other state license. Some states have their own certification for instance California and Florida but they will accept the Praxis exams.

  2. They just celebrated their 100th show and Mike even talked about how not many shows make it that far and how they were so proud. So why would they voluntarily end it right after that? I prefer watching them over Joe, Tia and Natasha so I was sad to see them go.

  3. In Colorado, you can't get a degree in education. You have to get a degree in something like math, science, English, art, etc because they want you to be an expert in something. Then you basically minor in education to get your teaching license. It's a minimum of 4 1/2 years of college. But each state is different.

  5. Aww. I’m sorry to hear they are ending it. I feel like their podcast was a solid A. Good questions, insightful comments and I find both Mike and Bryan interesting as handsome and mature men (def with good voices).

I feel like… if I was rating them. 🤷‍♀️ Bachelor Happy Hour would be a C-, maybe a D and the one with Becca, maybe a C+. Maybe.

So I thought their quality of content was leaps and bounds above the other bachelor podcasts. I wonder why it’s ending. Could be that the guys want to move on or something with contracts.

  7. I laughed at your comment that you really get to know your partner when you get gas station food! I made a cross country drive with a guy I had met online but only knew in person for 2 weeks. He couldn't believe how excited I was to get fried gizzards at a truck stop restaurant! He married me anyways… We've been together for 25 years, and still laugh about the fried gizzards!

  8. Teacher here! As I am in California, I can really only speak to what is required here… But when it comes to your bachelors degree, yes, you can get it in any area. That is due to the fact that after having a BS teachers still have to go through about two more years of schooling to get their teaching credential. Their schooling includes a lot of tests, classes that teach you how to teach, student teaching, observing mastered teachers, and more. Then you can finally teach in a classroom! Buttttt, that is not all, because in the state of California, you then have to spend about two more years going from that first credential to what they call a “clear credential” that essentially is supposed to prove that you are doing what is required of a teacher. So (at least here), getting a bachelors degree is only the first step!!

Plus, let’s say you want to teach history to middle school students.. you would be working toward a single subject, teaching credential. It will be much more beneficial to your process of becoming a teacher if you got your degree in history than in education or child development.
