About BAKING YESTERYEAR
A decade-by-decade cookbook that highlights the best (and a few of the worst) baking recipes from the 20th century
Friends of baking, are you sick and tired of making the same recipes again and again? Then look no further than this baking blast from the past, as B. Dylan Hollis highlights the most unique tasty treats of yesteryear.
Travel back in time on a delicious decade-by-decade jaunt as Dylan shows you how to bake vintage forgotten greats. With a big pinch of fun and a full cup of humor, youāll be baking everything from Chocolate Potato Cake from the 1910s to Avocado Pie from the 1960s.
Dylan has baked hundreds of recipes from countless antique cookbooks and selected only the best for this bakebook, sharing the shining stars from each decade. And because some of the recipes Dylan shares on his wildly popular social media channels are spectacular failures, heās thrown in a few of the most disastrously strange recipes for you to try if you dare.
A few of Dylanās favorites that are going to have you licking your lips and begging for more include:
ā 1900s Cornflake Macaroons
ā 1910s ANZAC Biscuits
ā 1930s Peanut Butter Bread
ā 1940s Chocolate Sauerkraut Cake
ā 1950s Tomato Soup Cake
ā 1970s Potato Chip Cookies
Baking Yesteryear contains 101 expertly curated recipes that will take you on a delicious journey through the past. With a larger-than-life personality and comedic puns galore, baking with Dylan never gets old. Weāll leave that to the recipes.

I love watching Dylan bake. His TikTok videos are extraordinary and fun. Heās educational and goofy at the same time. I ordered his book and it will be here next week.
I might have thrown a few extra yolks in the first pie and baked a bit longer. Would have set it a bit better. A little cinnamon or cinnamon applesauce would have been a great add in too.
Incredible as always Dylan. I can't wait to get your book!
Dylan really needs to have his own Food Network show.
this is a good video, but i just kind of want to know what happened in the top right corner at 12:33
why is there a background colored rectangle just chilling
"i refuse to sift a tablespoon of flour." keep that energy, i relate too hard
Keep them coming Dylan. I love watching your videos
Dylan so much resembles one of my old boyfriends. So much energy! I love him!
I am so happy Dylan is getting some more coverage. This is fantastic.
May I ask a silly question?
Why does he call for 3 teaspoons of Cream of Tartar? Why not just say a tablespoon and make it more efficient?
Love Dylan!!! šā¤ Got his book in the mail today. Iām so excited to start trying his recipes!!!š
Dylan seems sort of constrained by the new set. His energy level is stepped down; lighten up girl. I still love him, I hope he gets used to the new digs.
Did you forget the lemon juice? You mentioned lemon juice in the syrup, but you didn't add any…just curious!
Soooo many carbs!
I love Dylan!!! I agree with another commentor… he was definitely less aninated than in his own videos. I can't fault him for it tho. He still slipped in his famous pronunciations, even if his loaded jokes were almost absent.
I mean this with the utmost love, Marvel needs to snap you up to play Steve Rogers in a Captain Carter live action movie. Can't wait to get your new book, trip to barns and nobles penciled in for the weekend! Congratulations!
As i understand, that first apple pie is more similar to the apple pie the founding fathers would have eaten.
You can see him physically restrain himself from telling dirty jokes.
"Seeded" raisons have had their nutrition removed.
Oh hey, you're not screaming at the top of your lungs. Nice change.
can't wait to get his cookbook!!!
My copy shipped today and I'm so looking forward to it arriving.
That is really funny because Dylan posted a picture and while watching this video I figured out it was taken when he was filming this
I know very little about cooking and less about baking, but I feel like corn starch in the Rock Arbor instead of flour might have given a less runny texture.
I love longer videos of Dylan, this is just him with more of the same sassy attitude and wit.
Got it today! He should try Cider Pie!
Thanks Penguin for giving Dylan a platform to show why we need to get his book and try the recipes. NOW!
Brother…I love ya! But you're way too toned down. Let your personality shine! That's why we love you!
The video is great but I miss the classic voice when he says Eggy! š Or even better cimanomm š
