  1. I remember being 16, reading the news on LiveJournal the morning of and thinking it HAD to be fake, but it wasn't. Ultimately I'm happy that A7X continued on, and even without him released one of my favorite metal albums of all time (The Stage) but I wonder if there's another world where we could've heard more of his unique vision than the brief snatches we've got on their old albums.

  2. Went to huntington beach high school when Dallas cook passed away and played in his life celebration! I totally forgot that the rev played drums in suburban legends!

  3. The death of Razzle was tragic.

This is just some junkie from a shitty 1 hit wonder metalcore band that didn't know when or how to pull the pill bottle away from his mouth. Druggies dying is not "tragic" it's expected. If someone poured those pills down his throat, this would indeed be tragic, but he did it to himself.

  4. "We never really shove any religious or political beliefs on people…"

Oh how I yern for the days most bands (and other entertainers for that matter) lived by that rule. Now you can't get them to shut tf up about it, especially the politics. 😑😑😑

  5. Such sadness.. terrible, he was so talented. He became part of the 27 club. So many talented artists that lost their lives to drugs at 27.. Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix, Amy Whinehouse, Jim Morrison and so many others.. so sad 🙏🙏🙏

  6. If only there were some kind of warning, maybe a common trope or pattern that showed itself, then maybe Jimmy wouldn't have let his band and family down.
There is no tragedy in living a selfish, abusive lifestyle…..it's no secret how that ends.

The real tragedy in this story is the guy that left the band and ended up in ",politics"……gross.

  7. I read an article in drum magazine about A7X …
IT talked about how these guys were straight edge, and went to the gym together between shows ..
What bullshit.. a month later the Rev was dead from overdose.

  8. RIP Jimmy, I feel so old being the revs age of passing today and being a kid when he past on. It’s nuts. I have his fiction tattoo on my chest in the same spot in his honor 🤘🏼 dude a legend. He’s up there rocking out with Dimebag and Vinny Paul

  9. If you actually want to hear about his death, you have to skip to that last minute of the video. This video should of been titled, "Brief history of A7X, and we briefly discus the death of Jimmy, literally in the last minute"

  10. Jimmy obv has no idea, but his drumming is what got me into drums in the first place, and shift my attention from alcohol and other stuff in the late 00's. Cheesy, but changed my life foREVer.

  11. I saw this band in Vegas '08 at the peak of their crossover success, they were firing on all cylinders. When Rev died it sucked all the air out the band. That's the thing with drugs you just never fuckin' know how someone is doing unless you see it for yourself.

  12. does anyone else remember the shitshow that was his wikipedia page the night the news broke that he’d died? i remember at one point, i checked and the page said something about him falling off his roof dressed as santa and dying as a result. i sat in front of the computer refreshing the page compulsively for updates, and that was definitely the most jarring update.
it didn’t last too long, thankfully
