Interesting fact if you watched the first avatar movie you would know that the weak points are actually the nostrils of the creature. In the extended version of the first avatar there is a sturmbeast hunt and you can see they kill one by shooting the arrow into it's nose.

I’m having trouble getting clean kills with the feral viper wolf and thanator. Yes they don’t drop anything but there’s a perk that you need to kill both with clean kills. You can’t sneak up on them, and they are constantly moving. Any tips anyone?

If you want to EZ farm storm gliders goto island on the middle of the Great Heart Lake and there's One guaranteed always there, you can just fast travel back to a near camp and pass time. to make the kill easier, sit near a body of water (on the shore line) and when it's about to attack sit under the water (it'll do its flying away animation which is its most vulnerable state) and pop your shots at it.
Another good one (but i don't really know a cheese way to defeat it) is spool island in Silk Woods
