Australian Navy successfully tests new Naval Strike Missile

The test firing of the new missile, nicknamed “the ship killer”, was conducted last week at the Rim of the Pacific Exercise off the coast of Hawaii.

The Naval Strike Missile should significantly increase the lethality of Australia’s surface fleet.

It will replace the Navy’s ageing Harpoon weapon system.

  1. Unfortunately this so called 'new' missile is obsolete against China, Russia and Iran's hypersonic ship killing missiles currently in service and deployed.

The West (including the U.S.) is likely at least a decade behind in creating and fielding its own hypersonic missiles. Our Navy is in deep do-do if we clash with China. If I was an Aussie sailor I would make sure I could swim, or better still, get a civvy job instead!
