Emergency Management Minister Jenny McAllister says Australia is yet to receive “any response” for assistance in the California wildfires.
At least five people are dead and 180,000 people have been ordered to evacuate as out-of-control wildfires leave trails of destruction across Los Angeles.
“But of course, as always, we stand ready to assist,” Ms McAllister told Sky News Australia.
“Our friends in the United States – we will do everything we responsibly can, should a request come before us.”

Waiting for a request? Offer! Just go and help already, idiots everywhere

The coded, scripted "news" 😅
🇺🇸 We love you guys. 🇦🇺 If anyone knows how to handle bush fires, it's you. ❤
Get Israel to help , they're your greatest ally ever. This is all just the blessing the US gets for blessing Israel.
This little vegemite wont be standing with them if its under a gum tree!
Why? Most are Hollywood elites! Need to arrowhead your funds to people who had their insurance canceled. NO COVERAGE. The so called ELITES can pay for themselves. Please pay attention where ur gift will be issued to!
I'm not trying to sound nasty but if it was Sydney burning down would the US media pay any attention to it? Would it be one of the top stories on the news? No, coz they don't care about any other country but their own. I'm not trying to be nasty with this but, welcome to our world America! We live with bushies constantly, it's just a natural part of our Great Southern Lands cleansing but unfortunately more often than not we have devo bushies across the country with lives lost, property & houses lost, pets or farm animals lost, even our bravest, the firies, whether a full time paid job as a firie or a volunteer firie we can unfortunately lose those brave men & women. So i do sympathise with the people affected & lives lost but it's not that newsworthy to be the first or second story on Aussie news coz when the roles are reversed the US wouldn't even mention a bushie on their news shows. Just remember, we are Aussies not Seppos. We are our own country, we have our own culture, way of life, beliefs and even our own version of English, our own language. Let's stop trying to Americanise us & make it like Straya is another state in the US.
There's no water. Get your facts straight.
Go to hell when did they help with the fires pure BS it's all about the poor celebrities homes no one else
Australia, YOU ROCK!!!
Australia needs to go on high alert for arsonists…
We can send a couple of horse and carts, and Albo.
Anyone check to see if the Governor is holding a hose, with no water?
53rd state giving a lending hand
Its actually Australias fire season. We need everyone here.
Hey at least now all that land is freed up for the government to label as uninhabitable and then proceed to plan out their dystopian 15 minute "green" cities which are really just going to be prisons for our "safety" and because of "climate change" Dont let them take your land people!!!
Send half the Australian Fire Brigade whilst we go up in smoke days after they leave
You idiots didn't help during the hurricanes. Commifornia voted for this.
Send Scott Morrison there to shake some hands 😂
Why would it do that?
Oh yeah….because it's in the news and Labor subside on hollow virtue signaling.
Send the koalas kangaroos over here were burning up 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🥱
California discriminates against white men
Why, they have no water.
Shame on the government.
God bless the firies.
I love this
Can you send a new governor?
Let that woke state deal with a problem of their own making.
Climate change has made the grasses and shrubs that are fuelling the Los Angeles fires more vulnerable to burning, scientists say. Rapid swings between dry and wet conditions in the region in recent years have created a massive amount of tinder-dry vegetation that is ready to ignite.8 hours ago
i feel like some people here forgot that australia and california, specifically, always helps each other with bush fires because the conditions for it are so similar in both places. and y'all commenting about government sending fire fighters there when the entire video is about how australia is ready to assist but no explicit request has been said nor did they say they were gonna send fire fighters despite being in the middle of bush fire season here.
We’ve got our own fire season to deal with.
Plus we’re down firefighter la as you fired 🔥 all those that refuse the jab
Good luck with that 🔥🤣👍
Abstract
Human development has ushered in an era of converging crises: climate change, ecological destruction, disease, pollution, and socioeconomic inequality. This review synthesizes the breadth of these interwoven emergencies and underscores the urgent need for comprehensive, integrated action. Propelled by imperialism, extractive capitalism, and a surging population, we are speeding past Earth’s material limits, destroying critical ecosystems, and triggering irreversible changes in biophysical systems that underpin the Holocene climatic stability which fostered human civilization. The consequences of these actions are disproportionately borne by vulnerable populations, further entrenching global inequities. Marine and terrestrial biomes face critical tipping points, while escalating challenges to food and water access foreshadow a bleak outlook for global security. Against this backdrop of Earth at risk, we call for a global response centered on urgent decarbonization, fostering reciprocity with nature, and implementing regenerative practices in natural resource management. We call for the elimination of detrimental subsidies, promotion of equitable human development, and transformative financial support for lower income nations. A critical paradigm shift must occur that replaces exploitative, wealth-oriented capitalism with an economic model that prioritizes sustainability, resilience, and justice. We advocate a global cultural shift that elevates kinship with nature and communal well-being, underpinned by the recognition of Earth’s finite resources and the interconnectedness of its inhabitants. The imperative is clear: to navigate away from this precipice, we must collectively harness political will, economic resources, and societal values to steer toward a future where human progress does not come at the cost of ecological integrity and social equity.
Keywords: environmental policy, global economics, climate change, biodiversity loss, socioeconomic inequality
Doesn’t take long to get to get there to fight for a week With our helicopters then turn back.
Unfortunately the timing isn't right for australia to send even a single vehicle or person, just getting into the proper fire season now so we need them here, we'll rested and ready
