Hinduism core teaching is beyond monotheism & polytheism. Vedas is like written human documentary & it's knowledge teaching part is Vedanta. So read about Advaita Vedanta you'll realise it's beyond even monotheism.
Vedas is more than 5000 or 8000 years old which was preserved through oral tradition later written down after writting techniques arrived.

Hinduism is a misnomer (it’s Sanatana dharma) as is dating of Vedas to 1500 bc a falsehood..That date was given by colonial missionaries and orientalists based on a 6000 years old biblical history of earth.The Vedas are at least 9000 years old as of now,awaiting more scientific study and exploration.Genetics indicates 12000+ years up to 25000 a possibility as and when evidence is found.There is enough circumstantial evidence for that date not enough primary evidence.

One correction: Buddhism is said to be started by Sidharth Gowthama. But, the real fact is, he never renounced Hinduism up to his death. He was born to Hindu King. He left all his worldly pleasures in search of enlightenment. In his search, he was with many Hindu Rishis (teachers). After enlightenment, He never preached to any one like any Jesus or Mohammad. But his followers followed him for his teachings. After his death, his followers started a religion based on his teachings. His enlightenment is the result of his penance and yoga which are one the foundations of Hinduism (by Aadhi Yogi Shiva). Similarly Jainism including so-called Chinese and Japanese religions have links to Hinduism. Hinduism is not a religion, but it is a way of life and scientific. Please watch videos of Sadhguru or Jaggi Vasudev of Isha foundation for understanding Hinduism correctly.
