At least 10 people killed after car slams into crowd in New Orleans



At least 10 are dead and 30 are injured in New Orleans after a driver plowed into a large crowd on Bourbon Street during New Year’s celebrations. Police are calling it a “mass casualty” event and telling people to avoid the area. NBC’s Emilie Ikeda reports for TODAY.

  1. These appear to be copycat car-ramming attacks, similar to the incident in China a few months ago. A similar case was also reported in Germany. This highlights why the media should exercise caution in widely reporting such attacks, as extensive coverage may inadvertently inspire others to imitate them.
