In their final days on Mars, the astronauts make a startling discovery: the soil samples they have collected show microscopic traces of some form of life. Soon the Earthlings are to be picked up by a ship, and they decide to spend the remaining hours collecting additional evidence, for which they return to the Martian valley.

You were so smugly quick to get your "virtue signal for the day" in that you forgot to list said "black" persons character name or real name like all the other actors. No she's not a victim, her name is Yusra Warsama and she's playing 'Lauren.'
P.S. The only good thing about this movie are the movie sets and the way the actors move around in them, it actually looks like it could be real.
As to the infection issue… Uhh… movie went straight down from there.
