Anyone else killed this boss first try? Either Iโm a demon or got really good RNG.
I beat him in about 10 seconds with a few charged Shard Spirals & 52 INT w/ Azul's staff.
Same strat didn't work against the other Astel in Yelough Anix Tunnel, tho. Had to get creative for that one & use rot & Bloodhound Step.

Thanks for finally releasing this a few hours after i beat himโฆ twice
Cool video tho
I was just fighting this boss. Thank you.
this fight is so beautiful, im genuinely impressed with the art style here. Thanks for this video, i actually just got to him ๐
Was easy with black knife
Before it does the circle aoes, you can see 3 or 4 orbs on its limbs. If you see it, start rolling away.
This is super funny bc I just beat this boss. It was a wall for me and it finally just clicked
The hardest part for me is chasing it all over the place, it just teleports around..
Just beat astel and was looking to see if they nerfed him like radahn which I feel like they nerfed everything but rot breath does a toll on astel if your struggling

Wait wait wait, hold up… you mean to tell me there's a better way than….
Git gud?
Spellblade part 2
I love the lore of this boss. Spoilers. Part of Ranni/Rennas quest . This boss blew me away, like a genuine discovery. Cosmic entity, cosmic horror – I want to know more. Fascinating.
The design on this boss looks like those glass grapes my mom's best friend would keep on her coffee table when I was growing up as a kid.
This boss isn't hard its just annoying with the dumb camera lock and the TP
Beat on my first try. My strat was to hit him and not let him kill me. Most importantly element to this strat is to not get hit.
โOn your left!โ
I liked this boss fight a lot. His attacks are oddly beautiful to look at.
Astel is no match for Darth Maul
Still have to beat him myself but I helped a rando kill it once to learn more. Got an awesome sword from it. Crazy fight.
I cannot get the timing of his teleport grab down. It one shots me every time and I have 35 vigor.
The grab attack isn't a oneshot – I survive it with decent armor, 40 Vigor and (important) no soreseals that increase incoming damage.
The boss was bugged on me on my very first encounter. Not moving at all even when it hp went 0 . Yet it still bugged and can't dead. I have to force closed the game and when I'm on the game again just getting reward without a fight at all.
Is anyone else's ash summons just NOT doing anything. Like I summon them and they just sit there
This boss is so fucking annoying i hate him you cannot hit the mf with a heavy melee build. Also it is impossible to dodge some of his attacks
Everyone here for the tips and tactic. Me just spam Corpse Piler until the boss is dead.
The visual design of this boss is nightmare fuel
My boss guide to 100% of bosses is mimic and toxic breath
I literally just finished the fight against another version of this boss lol
Beat her first try after watching this video, super helpful in minimal time. Respect ๐
Great stuff, however, you neglected to tell us what level you need to be before trying this boss. Can you add that in the description?
Oddly, I seemed to do everything wrong, but ended up getting him on the 4th try. Hitting the head does a lot of damage.
Rotten Breath is powerfully strong
One of my go to Faith abilities for large mobs or cheeky chip damage on a boss
Edit: Also against void boss, My summon (Mimic) was used as a melee distraction. Then was able to get in behind and put the damage in. Used a bow in between when closing the gap, Lot of running about in this fight
Do u have to fight him twice my friend said u had to or do u just fight him once
I am not sure if my rng was great but it took about 3 to 4 rock slings to his head to stagger him.
Due to the rock slingโs range, I was able to bait the tail slams.
I've managed to get to him and I'm super underlevelled can I leave and come back once I've fallen down the coffin as there no grace down here
as a mostly meelee built player, it's hard to land a hit on him. I'd keep trying to hit for about 10 minutes then i'd eventually die from his grab attack.
Judging by your stats, i may have come to this boss way too early.
GOD
He grabed me from the right once
Me and my mate did this last night took about 30 minutes for us both to claim the kills was a good fight first boss that I've found a challenge and I loved it!
I remember seeing him for the first time and expecting an epic showdown, then beating him on the first or second try, lol. But the ease of midgame bosses like this was made up for by the endgame bosses, so I didn't really mind it.
Staying close made the difference. Thanks much!
