Gonna throw this out there. It seems one of the stumbling blocks in the dispute over the terms "qnuma" and "Hypostatsis" is that the Greeks never applied the term "Hypostasis" to non-human entities or non-conscious, soulless things. They did not use the concept of instantiation, an instance of something for inanimate objects. Great session as always
Guys help thanks. We know in Deuteronomy 6:4 it says hear o Israel the Lord our God is one. ECHAD collective pronoun. Can we say definitively that Muslims worship al lah as a singular pronoun. Are there any ayat that clearly contradict this. What are the closest verses that prove muslims worship muhammed.
My understanding of EO position is not that hypostasis is being defined as person. EO would concede that non personal categories can have hypostases too. The insistence on one hypostasis in Christ is to do justice to Cyril’s insight that the two natures are so united that they are one functional entity, and also to do justice to the idea that there is an identity between the instance of humanity (the man Jesus) and the instance of divinity (the second hypostasis of the trinity). In other words, I don’t think EO are reasoning from the definition of hypostasis but from the unity of Christ and oneness of subject.
So much to mentally digest this morning. Certainly learned a lot in these few lessons. Thanks for picking it apart to a level we can understand Sam. Especially the language and meanings of Kyana, Qnume, and Parsopa.
Jesus Christ is the fullness of the Godhead bodily, is how we say it in the oriental orthodox Christian viewpoint. And the Assyrian church of the east is not miaphysite as the oriental orthodox are. They are somewhere closer to Nestorian's use of terminology which is in disagreement of Miaphysitism.
This scism causing confusion. Whats the Will of God? And the Will of God can only be fullfil by Jesus Christ (and its fulfilled). Our heavenly Father and the Son has one goal to save the us the sinners. Our Father Lord Jesus Christ shows His Love for us. Christians can we just focus on the Love of Jesus, this scism hurts.our Lord Jesus. They're are debating either one nature or 2 nature, they're debating of the terms. Thank you Holy Spirit for enlightenment,i pray you protect sam and daughters and continue to use sam fo make difficult discussions or wordings to be more understanding to ordinary person or layman's terms.
